I have to admit that when we dropped our son off at Camp Kentahten my husband and I were a little bit jealous. We had planned our own mini-vacation to coincide with our son's summer camp stay but we were going to my parents. I would much rather stay at one of those gorgeous lakefront rooms. Girls Lacrosse Weekend Day Camp - Costello Sports Complex
The camp is intended to teach players the fundamentals of lacrosse from A to Z. Players will be grouped according to their age and ability. They will receive both individual and team instruction. The USM staff is geared up to give the beginning player the skills necessary to compete, while challenging event he most advanced youngster. This camp will emphasize skill development and both individual and team concepts. Each player will receive special attention according to their individual needs. Our goal is to develop skills, team play and overall ability so that each player becomes more knowledgeable and better able to apply these concepts to game situations. The philosophy will be to improve through hard work, develop individual and team skills and to have a positive and fun experience. Girls entering grade 3 through grade 12 and at least age 8 by September 1. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There will be a $5 credit card processing fee added at checkout. Elementary school youth within the autism spectrum. Activities for campers include coloring and painting, musical games, playground fun, swimming twice a week and local field trips. Quiet time, low lighting and sensory activities will be used as a transition from ESY to camp. Depending on skill levels, campers will be divided into two groups during some activities. To be successful, must be able to follow one/two step directions, ability to manage their behavior and be able to make simple choices. Campers must exhibit ability for self care with limited assistance with changing or prompting using bathroom. Staff ratio: 1 staff/4 participants. TRANSPORTATION : If attending ESY, contact your teens school to arrange transportation to camp. The Explorers Day Camp offers five weeks of old-fashioned summertime fun, designed to develop campers curiosity and creativity through weekly theme-oriented sessions. Each week, Explorers will participate amazing activities designed by GFSs own LS art teacher Heather Chu Marvill and ASP Art Coordinator, Joli Harnish. In addition, campers will enjoy science, cooking, nature, and sports-related activities. The GFS campus will serve as the primary location for exploration and skill-building. Half-day field trips to nearby cultural destinations provide opportunities for hands-on learning and discovery. Campers will build confidence, forge new friendships, and grow through new experiences, all within a safe and fun-focused environment. Swims at the Germantown Cricket Club during weeks #1, #2, and #3 will add to the summertime fun and plans are in the works to include swimming for weeks #4 and #5 as well!
