Big Kid on Campus
Do you know or have kids that have in some way been affected by cancer, whether that means they have battled it themselves or have loved ones that have? Would they enjoy spending a day at Georgia Tech with college students? Then bring them on out to Georgia Tech Christian Campus Fellowship for Big Kid on Campus, a Saturday full of fun! We are hosting a day full of fun entertainment and activities including games, crafts, makeovers, kickball with the Georgia Tech Softball team, and even an appearance by Santa! If you are interested in volunteering to make this happen and spend the day with these wonderful kiddos, you are also welcome! Oasis Summer Camp in the Mountains: ADOPTED - Gatlinburg, TN
Oasis in the Mountains: ADOPTED Students (Grades 7-12) are invited to join us for our annual Summer Camp from Jully 22-25. Registration is open and you can register at www.mbcpetal.com Camp will be held at Wafloy Retreat Center in the mountains of Tennessee. Beginning Typing/Keyboarding Skills - The Evergreen School
Typing is an invaluable skill that takes time and practice to master. This class is for children with little or no experience. We will discuss the history of typing, why it is important, learn about proper ergonomics, and the home row keys. Students will be exposed to many different typing programs and games. Epidemiology: Disease Investigation - NCSSM Durham Campus
So long as humans have existed on this planet, microbes have coexisted with us. Theyve lived in our bodies and thrived in the environment, posing a silent and constant threat. Theyve caused fevers and panic, helped with digestion and immunity. In this introductory course in human microbial disease, students will be introduced to the impact that various microbes have had in our lives. Students will learn the principles and methods of disease investigation: investigating patterns of illness in populations, identifying infectious microbes by visual assessment, mode of infection, and symptoms. What is it about wax that appeals to our senses of touch, taste, sight and smell? Beeswax. Paraﬃn. Soy wax. Gel wax. In this camp you will learn how to work with wax as a creative medium that is as versatile as clay or metal. You will also explore how wax is made and how the very diﬀerent chemical and physical properties inﬂuence what it is best used for! Campers will create their own candles, practice wax resist techniques and will even learn the age-old craft of encaustic painting (using melted wax as paint). Middle School "Budding Stars" Tennis Camp - The Prairie School
A limited number of students who love the game and are willing to work will be enrolled in this class. Students must be entering grades 5 through 8 unless approved by an instructor. Half of the class is instruction and drills, and the other half is supervised play. Again this year, we are excited to offer supervised match-play on Friday mornings, included in the weekly class fee! -- All classes are held on the Prairie School tennis courts, and class sizes are limited. The primary instructor for tennis is Nich Schafer. Private lessons are also available.
