Afternoon: Pirates with a Purpose Robotics have taken over the Pirate world. Well-seasoned students and crew design robots ready for adventures and excitement. The life of the pirate is searching for hidden treasure, protecting your gold and stealing others prized possessions. Can your pirate crew steal the other crews treasure and return it to your cove? Maneuverable robots will be tested as they race against the clock and other pirates. Variations of Capture the Flag, Race Against Time, Obstacle/Maneuverability Courses all out Pirate Wars will be held with a robotic spin. Come for the treasure… Stay to watch losing pirates walk the plank. Note: Even though between some weekly sessions there might appear the same program names, in our actual education program, we will have different depth of technology and engineering principles to be applied by our children under our inspirational guidance... Dates: February 17-19, 2017 (Friday-Sunday) Times: Camp starts 6 PM on Friday, ends at 9 AM on Sunday Ages: 4-H Age 13-19 (Age of youth on Oct. 1, 2016) and chaperones Registration Deadline: Friday, January 27, 2017 – complete forms and return to Extension Office Cost: $40 for Ravalli County Youth, $75.00 (Out of County), write checks to Ravalli County 4-H. Requirements: All counties must provide chaperones. Youth and chaperones must stay at the camp until checked out. K-5th Graders Postcare Its a bird..its a plane...its a Superkid! Calling all boys and girls...school is out, but FUN is in! We have an awesome camp planned for you filled with super crafts, team challenges,crazy cool games, silly science, team building, and a walking field trip to our VMSC movie theater to watch the animated movie, "The Incredibles." Pitching Camp: Session 3 - Cabin John Regional Park
Affordable pitching camps which provide young players with specialized training can be difficult to find. The Big Train pitching camp provides highly specialized skill development at a very affordable price, just $165 per week. During the camp, 25 players will have the opportunity to receive one-on-one training and participate in pitching drills with Big Train college pitchers. Campers will work for two hours each afternoon in the Povich Field outfield and Povich Field bullpens, building the pitching skills to get them to that next level. Note: Pitching Camp will not meet on Wednesdays to prevent the risk of campers straining their arms. 301-365-1076
Shining Stars - Musical Theatre (July 11) - The Little Theatre of Alexandria
This camp gives young performers a chance to experience being in a theatrical production, focusing on individual and group creativity while working collaboratively as a team. Students will play theatrically based games and work hard on learning and rehearsing for a show. This camp also allows students to experience the rehearsal process and is a great way to prepare them to be a part of a full length play or musical in school or in the community. The campers will participate in a musical through learning songs, dances, and scenes for them to perform as a whole by the end of the session. INSTRUCTOR MICHAEL PAGE has been teaching theater for 8 years and has been choreographing in local community theaters for the past 10 years. He recently received a BA in Theater and Dance from Christopher Newport University. He currently works as a Music and Movement Teacher at VHBC Preschool as well as teaches classes at LTA, Mount Vernon REC Center, and Browne Academy. He teaches private acting, dancing, and guitar lessons from his home.
