Kids Create! Session I: August 1 – 5, 2016 Session II: August 8 – 12, 2016 Ages 5 to 12 | commuter only | online application deadline: July 1, 2016 Fill your childs summer days with music, dance, theater, and visual arts. Children develop their imaginations and skills through drawing, painting, collage, movement, music, improvisational theater, creative dramatics, and playwriting. Classes are taught by professional musicians and artists from Rutgers Universitys Mason Gross School of the Arts. Each weeks offerings are unique, so children may participate in one or both weeks. Camp weeks end with showcases, giving students the opportunity to perform for their families. No prior experience needed. Santa Fe is home to a rich, diverse and ancient history of many cultures. This week we will put on our detective hats to sleuth out some of our local lore combined with outdoor exploration. We will learn about archeology and what a real archeologist does. Well travel to Bandelier and Pecos National Monument to learn about ancestral pueblo people, the Santa Fe Trail and civil war. 1900s Swiss artist Paul Klee is known for his colorful abstract paintings featuring geometric shapes. Using the Tellurides beautiful mountains as inspiration, we will create our very own Paul Klee-style works of art. 970.728.3886
Elem Super Scratch Week 3 - Merrill Engineering Building
We cannot get enough of Scratch and neither can our campers! This week-long 9AM-3PM day camp for entering 5th, 6th, and 7th graders (note the year older shift from the other Scratch camps) is a follow-on to the Beginning and Advanced Scratch camps. This camp looks at even more advanced topics and dives into more complex projects, finishing with a chance for participants to polish their projects under the guidance of our experienced instructors. Attendees should be enthusiastic about Scratch, self-motivated, and able to handle the longer day.
