7th-9th Grade film campers in are in for a fun and exciting hands-on introduction to the media arts in a beautiful natural setting. Start the week filming around the natural beauty of the Icicle Creek Campus, followed by two days of editing and post production. From concept to final cut, young filmmakers will experience each step of the creative process and experiment with new technologies. Campers will learn how to conduct a meaningful interview, handle a camera, set up a shot, record audio, and even shoot aerials from a drone. And once the footage is all gathered, of course, it all has to be organized and edited. By the end of the week, campers will have planned, shot and edited their own movie and well cap it all off with a family screening complete with popcorn! Level 1 Intensive - TBA - The Loft - iO West
Take Level 1 in one week! Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday In this class you are introduced to all the fundamental skills of improvising, while improving your ability to listen and explore the power of building off of other peoples ideas. Level 1 is a survey of the entire program, exposing you to the elements of scene work and the various skills involved in creating well-acted, comedic improvisation. Passing Criteria: Students must demonstrate that their listening has improved over the course of the term and that they are willing to build off of their partners ideas, in addition to having gained some proficiency with the technical aspects of actually doing so on stage. The Fort Frankfort Adventures Summer Day Camp is back for another awesome summer. This camp is designed for children entering 1st - 6th grade this fall. This full day camp will provide plenty of outdoor activities, water days arts & crafts and a feild trip each week. Fort Frankfort Summer Adventures Summer Day Camp will be held a Commisioners Park, located at 22108 S. 80th Ave. in Frankfort. The Frankfort Park District continues its partnership with School District 157C for the use of Chelsea Middle School, which is located next to Commisioners Park. We will use the facility for before and after camp and during inclement weather conditions. The camp will run from 9-4pm, Monday thru Friday, with a bfore and after care option. Bring a lunch and water bottle each day. The Michigan Coed College Prep Camp includes two full days of instruction conducted in a low-pressure, safe, and fun environment on the University of Michigan campus. You will benefit greatly from this camp if you are interested in trying out as a college cheerleader anywhere across the nation and especially at the University of Michigan. Emphasis will be placed on individual instruction in coed partner stunting as well as tumbling, dance, strength and flexibility. We aim to ensure individualized attention and safety for each camper. It is the intent of the entire University of Michigan Cheer Team Staff to provide each camper with the best possible atmosphere in which to learn and sharpen their cheer skills. The techniques and skills that we will help you develop will give you a big head start over your competitors. Incoming 7th and 8th Graders will learn the basic usage and safety of some hand tools, power tools and machinery (routers, drill press, scroll saw, spindle sander, disc sander, palm sander, cordless drill, lathe). All activities will be demonstrated and supervised by Mr. Caris, the current Woodworking teacher at NBJH. Students will choose a project from a list based on their experience. The list will be sent home in the FIRST week of the course. Examples include a cutting board, wood bowl, routed sign, garden tray, gumball machine, and bag toss game.
