Camp Yakety Yak (CYY) is a 501c3 organization that was created in 2010 to help children with special needs (e.g., Autism, ADHD, Intellectual Disability) grow socially and emotionally by improving their communication skills. Our educational mission is twofold: 1) provide instruction in social & emotional skills to children (ages 6-11) with special needs & their siblings to support friendship development in a day camp setting and 2) provide an opportunity for future professionals in educational and therapeutic fields to gain knowledge and hands-on experience in working with children with special needs. Back Again For More Fun
This is the third year that our girl has spent the full two weeks at Piomingo. The big difference is that this year she is going back as a counselor in training. We're very excited that she was given the opportunity to step up in a leadership position. Kid's Camp is from 9am-11am for players ages 7-15. Cost is $20 to participate and also includes an event t-shirt and a hotdog and a water. Bring your glove!!! Registration is open! Cheer Camp 1st-6th grades - Wichita Collegiate School
Instructor: Horsch. This camp is a great way to have your energetic boy or girl learn to cheer for the home team. They will be introduced to basic cheer moves and stunts. The athletes will also learn basic tumbling, focusing on correct stretching and flexibility techniques. Each camp week will include daily crafts and a parent performance at the end of the week. Invention Convention - Winter Session - Adams Elementary
Held in Computer Lab. Using Lego Mindstorms robots, Terraformers software, Circuitry, Solar Kits, Keva Planks, Rocketry, Technology and do-it-yourself projects, our curriculum challenges kids to design and construct 3-D innovations individually and as a team. This is a full year STEAM program (science, technology, engineering, art, math) with all new lessons for fall, winter and spring sessions that do not repeat. Design a star wars robot and Mars Rover, program an adventure in space, construct a solar robot, test out circuitry, build a castle, bridge or dragon…and lots, lots more! Students acquire a basic knowledge of geometry, physics, technology, programming, circuitry, energy, sculpture, art and design. In addition to logical thinking, our program stimulates students thinking in a different way to generate innovations from their own imagination and discover their creative talent. Hewitt Clubhouse is our full service after-school, mini fun camps and summer camp program for children in grades k-8. Our mini camp and after-school offerings are available to Hewitt girls only. The program runs daily during the school year. Classes include chess, karate, swimming, science, and culinary learning. Most Clubhouse sessions begin after school and run through 4:30pm but others have a later dismissal time based on the activity. For families wanting more afterschool care there are options for an extended afternoon until or 5:55pm, with opportunities for homework help, indoor games or outdoor play.
