LATEST CAMPS NEWS: History Comes Alive with Classical Theater - Wizard of Oz - Location: Center for The Creative Arts
This is a truly unique course especially designed for the home-schooled that incorporates history, literature, and performance. This classic novel/play will be interpreted and performed as students discuss the playwright and the time in which the author lived. History comes alive as students also create living portraits of imaginary and real characters during that period of history. The Wizard of Oz is a beloved classic. A cyclone carries Dorothy and her dog, Toto, to the magical land of Oz, where they encounter all the famous characters from the pen of L. Frank Baum... Dorothy, the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Woodsman, the rubber-legged Scarecrow, Glinda the Good Witch, Oz, Munchkins, Winged Monkeys, The Witch of the North, and the evil Witch of the West, who is determined to destroy Dorothy and steal the secret of her magical slippers. Students will learn performance skills as they practice techniques for stage acting along with the wonderful experience of performing this classic play. 302 239-2434 x120

Girdwood Fine Arts Camp was established in 1987, and provides a fast paced introduction to a variety of art media and professional artist styles. This registration is for the Primary A rt Camp (Ages 5-8) for the W eek I Camp held Monday - Friday from August 1-5 , 2016 in the AFTERNOON from 1pm - 3pm Y our child will work with guest artists and volunteers to explore different techniques and styles, while fully immers ing themselves in creativity.
