I went to CJDA every summer growing up, and now my girls attend every summer. I love it because they’re learning how to interact with other girls. With all of the back-biting and bullying you hear about in schools nowadays, I believe that CJDA works to counteract that. Girls at this camp learn to love and appreciate other girls. Clark Youth Theatre Summer Camp Sign Ups - Tulsa, OK
Clark Youth Theatre will hold a series of summer Theatre Camps at the Henthorne Performing Arts Center. Enrollment begins Saturday, April 2nd at 8:30am. Each two-week camp includes classes on acting, dancing, and other performance skills. This is a great opportunity for children ages 8-14 who are interested in theatre and performing arts. Campers must have completed the second grade. The cost is $225 per session. The remaining dates for summer Theatre Camp are: Session 1: June 6-17 Session 2: June 20-July 1 Session 3: July 5-15 Session 4: July 18-29 Session 5: Aug 1-12 Classes are 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. The camp also offers early drop-off at 7:30 a.m. and late pick-up until 5:30 p.m. for an additional $25 fee. Campers must bring a sack lunch each day. OPAL's multi-racial youth program, Youth Environmental Justice Alliance, is organizing a community event to raise awareness about a campaign to sustain and expand the YouthPass program in Portland. Our goal for the campaign is to show the city, TriMet, our schools, and our community that affordable public transportation is important for youth to lead healthy lives, be able to thrive, and be successful. The youth-led event will officially launch our campaign and engage with community members and decision makers, especially in East Portland neighborhoods. There will be educational booths about transit justice, powerful youth testimonies, and cool performances! YouthPass to the Future Campaign: We want all high school students in Portland to be able to go to school and access opportunities that prepare them for success. Transit is an educational right! KHK: Cowboy Overnight Camp - SD Discovery Center
Qualified staff, experienced horses and a rodeo and roping arena will be the setting for this camp. The atmosphere will encourage campers to advance their riding skills, expand their horsemanship knowledge and enjoy riding. All campers will get to try their hand at rodeo and roping events. Instruction will be provided and all level of riders will be accommodated. Math and science concepts will be integrated into all skill development for campers. Everyone will ride and learn horse and ranch routines. This is an overnight camp. Chuck wagon/Campfire cooking will occur, (weather permitting). Bring a sleeping bag, overnight bag, long pants, sturdy shoes or boots, sunscreen and a jacket. Riding Helmets will be provided. Animal lovers and aspiring veterinarians wont want to miss this camp! Learn the responsibility, care and needs of Meadowsides animal collection such as birds of prey, snakes, turtles, and more, with daily hands-on practice in care, handling and diet preparation. Field trips (like a visit to an animal rescue and veterinary clinic) and outdoor experiences give campers a close look at how animals adapt to changes in their environment, why wildlife sometimes conflicts with humans, and why animals may need our help for a second chance. Camp space is available on a first come – first serve basis. A $150 non-refundable deposit for each session attended (applicable to the camp fee) and registration form or on-line registration record is required. An information packet is e-mailed with required forms upon completion of registration. Take art to a new level! Whether you are an accomplished young artist or someone who thinks they cant do any art, we promise you are in for a hands-on 3 dimensional fun experience with wood burning, tie-dyeing with Indigo, printmaking, weaving and felting and that is truly EXTREME! We will teach you to use a special pyrography (wood burning) tool and to draw designs, patterns and texture into wood, leather and dried gourds. The ancient Greeks called it writing with fire. After the design is burned in, shading and coloring can be added. You will discover the art of printmaking, how to use a printing press, carve linoleum blocks into stamps, and create a masterpiece using natural items and a collagraph abstract print. Go back in time as you dye fibers using natural indigo and tie-die your camp t-shirt to the EXTREME! Create Native American inspired medicine pouches through a felting process and weave your own tapestry using card or hand looms from simple to complex.
