Rustler Ranch Teen Camp - Pierpont, OH
Teen Camp at Rustler Ranch 6th-12th Grade July 13-15 9:30am - 2:00pm $35.00 per teen per day OR $100 for 3 days!! Come out and enjoy the fun at Rustler Ranch! Your teen will learn safety around horses, grooming, daily care of horses, saddling, horse language, how to work with a horse on the ground, riding skills, maneuvering obstacles, and much more. They will then put these skills learned into practice by caring for their assigned horse daily while at camp. Each teen will receive one on one time with their assigned horse and instructor. They will learn through class time and hands on time. Each teen will be evaluated and taught to their current level of riding, beginners to advanced will learn new skills to aid each of them.  We ask that each teen wear long pants and shoes with a heal for riding. We also ask that each teen bring along with them a packed lunch each day; fridge and microwave available. Week 5 AM - Dynamic Earth - Wuskenau Beach
The earth is constantly changing and moving. Most of the time we dont even notice unless there is a big change! Discover how coastlines and islands were formed, experiment with how water moves through sediment, and explore the science of hurricanes and how they affect the coastline. Go kayaking, snorkeling, and boogie boarding to become one with our dynamic Earth! Includes: boogie boarding, kayaking, snorkel adventures, playing in the salt pond and the ocean. 860-535-9362
Tuesday - Knitting - HoLa Lower School
This class begins with essential lessons for to empower new knitters. Lessons will include choosing supplies, reading instructions, casting on, knit stitch, purl stitch, and binding off. Using these basic techniques, participants will learn how to create different knitting patterns using the knit and purl techniques, including seed stitch, ribbing, stockinette, and garter. Transylvanias College Prep Camp will give campers an opportunity to sample college life while gaining academic knowledge and learning how to improve their scores on standardized tests. Morning and afternoon sessions will explore different academic areas through lectures given by Transylvania faculty and staff members. These will often be the same lectures you might receive as a Transylvania student. Evening sessions will help prepare campers for the ACT and SAT exams. They will receive two evenings of math preparation and two evenings of verbal preparation. During camp, participants live in a Transylvania residence hall and eat three meals a day in the dining hall, beginning with breakfast on Monday. Campers can also use Transys library, computer laboratory, and recreational facilities. Internet services will not be available in the dorm rooms. To be eligible for this camp, campers must have a grade average of at least a B and be recommended by two individuals - one of them a teacher or counselor who verifies your grades and confirms that you are interested in and would benefit from the camps program.
