Science in the City Camp provides students with a full week to explore a science topic alongside passionate faculty. Science in the City courses will activate campers imaginations as they are encouraged to invent, engage and explore. Using Chicago as a resource, campers will connect science activities with everyday life. See options for specific course offerings each week. LUNCH: Science in the City campers must bring their own peanut-free bag lunches and drinks each day. Refrigerated facilities are not provided. An insulated lunch box with an ice pack is recommended. 2016 - Camp 4 Kids CIT Try-Outs - Orange, CA
The heartbeat of Camp4Kids is our volunteer staff. After all, without a great staff, who would bring the magic of summer camp to the kids and teens who need it most? Great Counselors aren't just born, they're carefully trained! Our Counselor-in-Training program (CIT for short) is the venue through which we teach teens the skills and expertise necessary to care for campers. CITs must be a minimum of 16-years-old at the time of camp. Though previous camp experience is not required, it certainly helps. After extensive training "down the hill" (outside of camp), CITs are paired with Senior Counselors while in camp, receiving first hand experience and one-on-one training, learning what it takes to be an effective leader while in a supervised and controlled environment. Being a great Counselor comes from years of training as a CIT. Come down and try out! RSVP through private message.

Throughout the week, your child will be given exciting building challenges in BOTH the creative and survival mode of MINECRAFT ® BEWARE OF CREEPERS!! Renaissance has hired some mining experts to help your child learn secrets and short cuts that can be taken home for use on their own MINECRAFT® games. A secure server will be provided for their use during this camp. We will focus on several advanced crafting skills such as red-stone wiring, advanced survival tactics and advanced gardening. Campers will participate in a horserace and become paleoentoligists digging for bones to construct a dinosaur. There are new challenges everyday and the excitement builds with each new challenge. Robotics Vehicles – (6th - 8th Grade) Students will build Vehicles using Mindstorms robotics equipment. Students will advance on their programming skills and manipulate the Vehicles with coding on a laptop. There is a limit to 16 children for the class. The curriculum for the Robotics Club is different for each quarter, allowing for new material to be added per quarter. But the different curriculum also allows for new students to join in without having had previous Robotics experience. Students do not need to bring anything to the Club.
