Anti-Bullying Summer Camp - Santa Monica, CA
Anyone who watches the news regularly can tell you that bullying is an epidemic that has infected the learning experience for so many kids in schools that it must be taken seriously. Bullying can no longer be seen as a possibility, but an unfortunate eventuality. Relying on empathetic bystanders to step up in defense of bullied children is a wonderful idea, but it can be unreliable when a child is left to fend for themselves. So why not plant the seeds of self-confidence in your kids that upstanders have? What is an Upstander? An Upstander is someone who Stands Up for themselves or others when a bullying incident occurs. Most of them already possess empathy and courage, but aren't always equipped to handle the physical or emotional repercussions of their heroism. Dojo2go.com's Anti-Bullying Camp teaches martial arts-based protocols that begin with assertive verbal and nonverbal communication skills. Their words, voices and postures are used to establish a barrier to any unwanted invasion of their personal space. Whether it's one day or a whole week, Camp Pump It Up is where it's at! Discover, explore, invent, and imagine! These themed camps are high-energy, fast-paced and just plain fun for kids. Kid's will spend part of the day playing on our gigantic inflatables and party of the day making new friends during interactive play, crafts, and hands-on activities. Kid's Cooking Camp - Chapel Hill, NC
Kids will work with our expert staff and experience an array of foods from around the world through hands-on learning. Recommended ages: 4-10. Each class must be registered for separately. Pre-payment required. $10 per child, per class. All proceeds go to the Whole Kids Foundation. Registration and payment can be made at the Customer Service Desk or by calling (919) 968-1983. Mission Teen WorkCamp - Scranton, PA
Help work to repair or modify the homes of families in need with other high school students from different denominations, states across the country and walks of life. Any students who are currently in 8-12th grade may participate. Dates: The Work Camp runs June 28-July 4, 2015 Payment Schedule: There is a 50.00 deposit due at registration, then 208.50 due by March 15 and then another 208.20 by May 15. KidSport After Camp Care Week of 8/8 - 8/12 - Scarlett Middle School
After Camp Care for KidSport the week of 8/8 - 8/12 Parents/guardians come into school to sign out and pick up camper. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- KidSport offers children the opportunity to learn and refine non-competitive sport-specific, team building and social skills. The activities are age appropriate and developed by experts in childrens physical education. KidSport is staffed by certified teachers as well as physical education and education majors focused on providing a first-rate experience for your kids! Camp Carlyle: Session III - Carlyle House Historic Park
Camp Carlyle at Carlyle House Historic Park, in Old Town Alexandria, encourages children to explore history through challenging, engaging, and fun activities. We highly value and encourage inclusion of all campers in all activities. Campers will have the opportunity to learn about 18th century games, clothing, schooling, culinary techniques, trade and money, and city life. Campers will also have opportunities to take offsite field trips to other historic sites in Old Town Alexandria that include the George Washington Masonic Memorial, Alexandria Archaeology Museum, Gadsbys Tavern Museum and the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum. The final day of camp includes an all-day offsite field trip to a historic site or museum. Snapology - The Philadelphia School
Take off on a robotics adventure featuring LEGO® models with working motors and sensors! Work in teams under guided instructions to build and program your models for a fun adventure. Student will get to build a different model each class, and learning is enhanced through use of laptops. Snapology programs provide a fun and safe environment for children to learn science, technology, engineering, math, and literacy concepts using LEGO® bricks and other similar building tools to teach children development skills and concepts of science. The children have so much fun building models and robots they hardly even realize its educational!
