Embark on a new and fun learning adventure with Griffin Camps Enrichment Classes. Our offerings for this week: Session 1: Make it & Take it (9:00 AM- 12:00 PM) In this handson, fun, and exciting program, you will discover how amazing science is. You will make and take home a wide assortment of toys designed to teach you science concepts in a handson way. Bugs, Spiders, and Critters What is a bug? Whats the difference between a spider, and insect, or a millipede? Campers will learn about the differences between the various creepy crawlies in our own backyards! Session 2: Make it & Take it (continued) Refer to description in Session One. Creative Collaging This isnt just any old collaging class. Young artists will use a variety of different materials to make collages. Exploring concepts of depth, texture, color, and mosaic, this camp is bound to cover our week with adventure. Send your child to our day camps for a great learning opportunity with experienced and dedicated staff, amazing horses, and lots of hands-on crafts and activities! Students will help with care of the horses (feeding, watering, pasture turnout, stall cleaning, etc.) and learn about horse anatomy, colors, breeds, conformation, and tack. The last day of camp includes a mini horse show for parents to come watch what their kids have been learning throughout the week. We will also have time to create different elements/crafts that will help the student continue this practice after the camp is finished. We will make journals, mala beads, eye pillows, and they will learn to blend tea and make their own blend to take home. The price also includes 3 additional weeks of unlimited yoga. Our desire with this program is to offer an avenue for the youth in our community to learn how to quiet their mind and to build self-awareness. Reading, writing, and math skill building will be alternated with athletic activities to prepare incoming second, third, fourth, fifth & sixth graders. All curriculum will be aligned with Common Core Standards. Students will be given optional homework, needed literature and academic materials. Parents will be given an opportunity to share their childs needs prior to the camps introduction so curriculum can be individualized.
