Dance, tumble & cheer your way into the school year! This is an introduction to basics class developed to strengthen skills for aspiring cheerleaders, dancers, and gymnasts. Each class will cover tumbling skills, build proper jump shapes, and strengthen core & leg muscles. Students will be introduced to turning and leaping, and mini trampoline fundamentals. Cartwheels, round-offs, walkovers, and handsprings are all basics to which dancers, cheerleaders, and gymnasts aspire. Dance basics will be introduced as girls learn to turn and leap with proper technique. Participation awards will be given to everyone on our show off day May 18th, the last 30 minutes of class. I sent my teenager to the Taft Summer School in Watertown, CT this past summer and I am so glad I did! She was able to get intensive learning in a school environment, but it wasn't school. It was more fun and had a lot of extras, so she was able to get the best of both worlds. The teachers are excited to teach and that’s why the campers learn so much. Kid's Campout with the Prickly Pear Living History Museum - San Antoni
Do you want to help your kids build a connection to nature, but aren’t sure how? Do you struggle to get them away from screens? On March 19th and 20th Government Canyon State Natural Area and the Prickly Pear Living History Museum will be co-hosting a camping event for kids ages 10-16 and their parents. No screens allowed, but no one will be bored. Instead, we’ll talk about how local Native Americans survived and thrived in the same places we now call our home. For hands-on learning we’ll have reproduction tools, weapons, and natural resources for everyone to explore. Along the way, kids discover how to be hike leaders and why it’s important to be good caretakers of the land. We’ll provide most of the equipment. Maximum of two kids and two adults per group, so that more kids can enjoy the experience. Space is limited to 12 people. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED! Our last event filled up fast. Funds raised offer youth the opportunity to develop leadership skills, increase self-awareness, build self-confidence and develop meaningful, life-long relationships.

In this podcasting class, well examine the art of radio storytelling, beginning with the Golden Age of radio dramas in the 30s, 40s, and 50s, all the way up to the radio journalism of today with programs like This American Life, 99% Invisible, and RadioLab.
