Fun-filled field trips will be taken each day to enable campers to explore the exciting opportunities available in our community. Each morning will begin with a short educational reading and activity related to the field trip. Lunch will be eaten on the trip and a thematic afternoon snack will be provided. Each location offers campers the opportunity to play and explore. Campers should pack their own lunch. Field trips include: Cleveland Zoo, Great Lakes Science Center, Natural History Museum and Lake Farm Parks. Trips will be arranged according to weather and lunch should be packed in brown paper sacks or plastic bags to allow for easy disposal while on field trips. Located in Glen Cove, the Webb Institute is a private engineering college, offering a dual major in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. Participants in the Sea Perch Program will build an underwater robot. The completed the robots will then be brought to Webb Institute for a day of in-water testing and head-to-head competitions that determine how well the robots were constructed and how well the human operators can control their custom-built submersible seacraft.
