LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Shooting Basics - Next Level Gym
Shooting Basics is the first of 3 programs under the Shooting Fundamentals Series. Designed to help athletes develop or improve their shooting form. Shooting Basics will teach players correct footwork, body positioning and ball placement as they execute shots from various positions on the court. Step in shots, shots off the dribble and off the catch will be the concentration in this program. Players will also work on range shooting and free throw positioning and routine. Each player will build the muscle memory to consistently shoot with control and confidence. Once players complete this program they will be able to enroll in the second program under the Shooting Fundamentals Block - Shot Breakdown. Program consists of 6 - 1 hour sessions. Mon, July 25, 2016 - Fri, July 29, 2016 Summer Art Camp at the SCGA Morning Classes: 9:00am - 12:00pm: Bugs ‘n’ Blooms (Ages 4-7) Shrink down to explore the world of creepy crawlers and fabulous flowers! Students will be introduced to the beauty and fun of insects and will explore their environments in a class where art meets science. Young entomologists will create a variety of 2D and 3D forms using materials from nature and an army of art supplies using paint, collage, clay, printmaking, mixed media, and more. Come bug out with us! Storytellers (Ages 4-7) Storytelling helps students improve their language skills, instills a love of reading and stirs imaginations. In this first-time class, talented professor of visual art Jennifer Pepper will guide students through painting, drawing and mixed media activities based on a variety of classic and contemporary children’s stories. Recycle-O-Rama (Ages 8-12) Students will be guided through using everyday recycled materials to think creatively, outside the box, and exercise their imaginations using unusual and recycled everyday objects like scrap wood, water bottles, used cardboard and plastic, styrofoam, aluminum foil, string, rope, toilet paper & paper towel rolls and more to create one-of-a-kind “Outsider Art” projects. The Krazy Kids Inflatable Fun Run is the first event of its kind, a new dynamic inflated obstacle run for kids ages 3 – 12 years old. We didn’t just throw together a couple slides and bounce houses – we took imagination, creativity, and of course FUN into consideration to create the KRAZIEST event your kids will ever participate in! Overland Kids Halloween Party
Mark your calendars, put on your costume and join us for a fun spooky night with all your friends. We will have costume contests by age groups, pizza and a drink for the kids, scavenger hunt, games and prizes, and candy! This is a free, safe, indoor trick-or-treating event open to children ages 2 to 12 of Overland Residents, Overland Business Owners, and City of Overland Employees and their families. Parents are required to accompany their children for the entire duration of their stay. Registration will start on October 1st and will end on October 29, or until the maximum number has been registered. This event will be held on Friday October 30 in the gymnasium at the Overland Community Center from 6-8:15 pm, with check in time between 5:45 – 6:45 p.m. only. All participants must be in costume and donate at least one can food item to enter the event. Register on Oct. 1 and be one of the first 175 overland kids entered into this year’s extraordinary Kids Halloween Party.

MINECRAFT® & 3D PRINTING and CODING Ages: Girls and Boys Entering Grades 4 - 6 Date: June 27 - July 8 Time: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Format: Two, one week morning and afternoon sessions. Student may register for Minecraft® and 3-D Printing in the morning and / or Coding in the afternoon. NOTE: To register for the Coding ONLY half day session, please see Coding Camp. Location: Laurels Lyman Campus in Shaker Heights Tuition: Half-day: $210/session: Full-day: $400/session Your kids may think Minecraft® is just an awesome video game, but we know better!
