This camp will introduce Modern and Contemporary movement to each student. Contemporary choreography will be presented along with classical technique to advance the dancer's knowledge. A dance showcase will be offered for the families on the final Saturday at 2pm. The Dorman summer football camp is a non-contact camp designed to teach the fundamentals of the game of football to rising 2nd - 8th graders. The entire Dorman varsity football coaching staff, as well as all of our middle school coaches, will be instructing players in every facet of the game, including many of the same drills done by the Varsity Cavaliers. • Camp begins Monday, June 6th at 8:00am. Registration will begin at 7:30 each morning. Creative Dramatics - KidsOnStage - The Little Theatre of Alexandria
NO CLASS ON FEBRUARY 13. This class is designed for 3rd-5th grade students. Using their natural abilities and imaginations, students will learn how to create their stage characters through theatre games, teamwork, problem solving; and, at the same time develop students confidence. Class includes an introduction to onstage and backstage needs for a show. A final production, April 1-2, will be presented on the main stage. INSTRUCTOR KATHY DILLABER is a JMU graduate, B.A. Communication Arts & Educational Certification, plus graduate studies. Post college, she performed at Tecumseh, Ohio; ‘Land of Oz, N. C.; Busch Gardens, Williamsburg; and local theatres. Since 2013, she participates annually in the Broadway Teachers Workshop, NYC, working with Broadways top artists onstage and backstage. Workshops explored the theatre craft as it pertains to school and community productions. Other experiences include a techie backstage and a theatre instructor where she has directed numerous childrens productions. Our mission is to provide a safe, peaceful and harmonious environment where campers can spend time with their friends while creating new ones. Summer Rec Camp consists of six weekly programs that run Monday to Friday (8:00 am to 4:00 pm). The Full Time program has a field trip every Tuesday and Thursday. Lunch, snacks and drinks must be provided by the parents/guardians. Outdoor activities and field trips are subject to the weather. Rain dates have been planned for appropriate trips. A camp tee shirt will be provided and must be worn on all field trips as well as to the beach. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All fees must be paid prior to the first day of camp. Cancellation of any weeks must be done two full weeks in advance, in writing, in order to be considered for a refund. Please, do not send food that contains peanut butter. Make your own creature suits and learn about a different animal and their awesome creature powers every day. There will be so many ways for us to play and learn about animals: dramatic play, crafting & art, fine and gross motor activities, literacy and math practice, and lots of science. We will wrap up our creature adventures with a trip to the zoo to see those creature powers in action!
