Both of my daughters attended this camp two years in a row; then my oldest daughter went on to be a camp counselor for a summer before she went on to basic training. They are now 28 and 30 years old and they STILL talk about their camp experience!!

Science Olympiad Camp (Grades 6-9) Half Day The Science Olympiad Summer Camp is an excellent opportunity for students to experience what it is like to compete in a Science Olympiad Tournament. Students choosing the ½ day option will participate in 2 Science Olympiad events, while those choosing the full day option will participate in 4 events. The camp events are the same as those used in the State and National Science Olympiad Competitions. At the end of the 2 week camp, campers will participate in our camp competition which will be modeled after actual Science Olympiad competitions. Instructors are current members of the High School North Science Olympiad Team and former members of the Community Middle School Science Olympiad Team that has won 13 consecutive State Science Olympiad Championships and 2 National Science Olympiad Championships. This is our History 1 week. This week we will be moving around the Bay Area taking daily field trips while using public transportation to navigate our way. The week will be comprised of the schedule below*. Day 1: Alcatraz Day 2: GG Bridge/SF Maritime Museum Day 3: Oakland Walking Tour/Oakland Museum of California Day 4: De Young Museum (may be substituted) Day 5: USS Hornet (Days may not be in the specific order above) We meet at Rockridge BART station every morning at 8 AM then travel the city to our destination or destinations. We return to Rockridge BART at 4PM for pickup or post camp day care. *Note: UAC will follow the schedule posted unless issues arise, in which case we will make any and all substitutions equal to the current schedule. 510-339-0676

Sewing camp is a wonderful opportunity to learn a new skill that will last a lifetime! In this sewing camp, your child will learn a variety of hand-machine-sewing skills. They will learn to comfortably use the sewing machine and practice basic sewing stitches. We will make projects such as pillows, iPod holders, tote bags, aprons, draw string bags, book covers, water bottle holders and more. As a final project, campers will learn the art of quilting. We will provide all the colorful, beautiful fabrics, and the materials. On Friday, the campers will prepare snacks and lunch as part of their camp experience.
