Back for her third year, Mrs. Kris Anne Hall, a vigorous young mother will again be teaching about heroic men and women from our countryʼs founding, and the documents of freedom leading up to it. Mr. Peik will again lead Campfires, the Round Robin for Student Input and Q & A, and weʼll even find time for a final exam to help you see your progress! Family Camp is growing! Nearly one billion people on our planet lack access to clean water. Thats one billion people who cant drink from a faucet, shower or cook a meal without risk of illness - or worse! In this course, students will collaborate with a Global Partner Student from a developing country to help quench the thirst of the world. Through video message exchanges they will learn about each other and explore how water is used in each others culture, study the chemical properties of water and the water cycle, and then use the engineering design process to build, test and tweak biodomes, water towers, and water filtration systems to better understand how water systems can be polluted and purified. As their understanding of the subject matter grows, students will work closely with their Global Partners to develop a hands-on research project that shows the water problems each of their countries face while sharing practical ways to address these problems and help bring clean water to the world!
