This is the first camp ever offered by Club SciKidz! Newly revised and more exciting than ever, campers learn the science behind Hollywoods special effects. Activities will demonstrate concepts related to light, sound, perception, illusion, and model building. One of the great features of this camp is that all campers will create (and take home!) a movie using techniques in Claymation and Stop-Motion Animation. Lessons include plot development, story boarding, set building, filming, and sound effects. Campers will also learn various special effects make-up techniques working with the same materials used by professional make-up artists. They will simulate cuts, bruises, artificial blood, and old age. Is there a future movie director living in your house? This is a camp your child wont want to miss! Something that has been toying with the New Sanctuary for a long time finally gets down to brass tacks. Big changes occur in the world, new horrors appear, bad stuff happens to good people, and the smart folks will bring their own in-game light sources. This is a full weekend long immersive LARP experience. The price is $60 for players who will need to bring sleeping bags, toiletries, extra socks, costumes, weapons, spell packets, and extra badass to withstand a weekend of imagination and adventure. Meals in the tavern are an additional cost, but hearty and well worth it. NPCs pay $15, and don't need to bring costuming. Their admission fee covers their meals as well. NPCs need to bring dark clothes they can move in, sturdy shoes, extra socks, sleeping bag, and toiletries. We ask that people try to get to the site by 8 so that they can have time to get into costume and go through registration before lay on at 10. We will be able to arrive on site as early as 3 PM. This is the first youth camp hosted by St. Nofer Youth Meeting. We will be going to Gatlinburg, TN. The Cabin reserved is located in Gatlinburg on one of the highest peaks and the views of Mt. Le Conte are just spectacular, downtown Gatlinburg and Ober Gatlinburg ski resort by day and the beautiful city lights by night. We will have 2 Lectures, PEP talks, spiritual discussions, chats among the youth, a lot of entertainments using the cabin features, all that aside from touring around the city. This Camp will be a guys only camp. Dates: September 25th – 27th (LEAVE FRIDAY at 5:00 PM— RETURN SUNDAY at 8:00 PM) The cost is $85/person (3 days, 2 nights) The cost includes: Cabin, Transportation, and Food Note: TBD attraction (additional cost will be added depending on the attraction).
