Did you know that your favorite sweet treats are the product of an interesting array of chemical reactions? Tie on your apron! Its time to bake some sweet treats as we have fun learning about the science of baking and kitchen safety. Participants in this session will learn the science behind baking the perfect cookie as well as the proper way to measure and mix ingredients, kitchen safety, baking techniques, and how to overcome baking challenges as we make a different type of cookie each day (including at least one gluten free option). Ms. Suzanne Russell earned her M.S. in Library Science from Indiana University. She is the subject area librarian for Brebeufs Religious Studies and Science departments. As told by a traveling troupe of actors led by the cunning and charming Leading Player, Pippin is the story of a young prince, heir to the throne, who is searching for his own corner of the sky. Pippin returns from university certain that he will find a fulfilling purpose in life. As encouraged by the Leading Player, Pippin dabbles in bloody battle, licentious and lusty sexual entanglements, and saavy political maneuvers, only to discover that true happiness is more complicated than he thought. With infectious tunes by Stephen Schwartz and classic choreography from Bob Fosse, Pippin is both a humorous allegory about growing up and a dark tale of the danger of false appearances and empty promises. 2nd Session - Soccer - YSCP
Intro: The soccer club will focus skill base practices instead of playing a game. The ultimate goal of this club is to recruit players for the YSCP soccer team. Students will learn positions, strategies and ball controlling. Bio: Frank Ayata has been with YSCP since 2007 as business manager. He loves playing and teaching soccer. He has been playing soccer since his childhood. This year marks his fourth year with Extended Day Soccer Club. He is involved with many extracurricular activities at the YSCP such as Skiing Club, and International trips to Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Turkey. He is excited to inspire the students to explore the beauty of playing soccer for the upcoming year. 8142379727.0
Counselor in Training (CIT) - New England Frontier Camp
The CIT Program is the capstone of the camping experience for young men. For decades, the CIT program at New England Frontier Camp has challenged young men physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually to refine and build their character. They are pushed and challenged in ways designed to grow their strengths and overcome their weaknesses. Our CITs will build leadership experience into their lives that they can carry with them into manhood. The program is a five week program, consisting of two weeks of Pre-Camp training with the staff, and the first week of summer program with some intensive activies and projects. CITs have the opportunity to acheive Red Cross certifications in Lifeguarding and First Aid. Then, during sessions of the summer camp program, CITs are placed in limited program activities and closely observed by the senior staff. Part of our goal with this program is to produce young men who are capable to go on as Junior Counselors and Senior Counselors. 2079256735.0
