FARMERSBURG YOUTH LEAGUE SOFTBALL CAMP - Farmersburg, IN
Farmersburg Youth League will be hosting a camp with the NCHS 2A State Champion Softball team and Baseball team. ! The camp will be located at: North Central High School Girls Camp August 8th, 2015 9:00am to Noon $10.00 per child (ages K – 8th grade) Each parent must sign a waiver when the child is dropped off!! Please arrive early enough to do so. The camp will start promptly at 9:00am!! Maplewood New Kid Camp - Austin, TX
Do you have a transferring to Maplewood Elementary School in August 2016? Come out to the school for New Kid Camp on Thursday, August, 15 to learn all the basics you and your child need to know when school starts, meet the teachers, and take a tour of the classrooms. Artists in Residence II with Nelli Shevelkina & Connie Pfeiffer (Ages 7-14) - Young People
Folk Art Around The World with Nellie Shevelkina Go Global! Learn about different cultures through their arts. We will travel from Africa to the Americas, Europe to Asia, Australia and in between discovering traditional folk arts from around the world. Explore the history, techniques, and special meanings of various crafts while noticing similarities and differences in their designs, patterns, and styles. We will create mosaics, painted and printed fabrics, sand paintings, mask making, paper maché figurines, paper cutouts, clay whistles, just to name a few. Students are encouraged to research their own cultural and ethnic backgrounds and proudly share these artistic traditions with the class. Fun with Metal with Connie Pfeiffer Make jewelry and mini-sculpture with copper sheet metal and wire to wear or hang. Stamp, fold, hammer, bend, cut, twist and even heat metal to create pendants, medallions and forms from nature such as pea pods and leaves. Students will explore using basic hand tools, especially hammers, mallets, cutters, files, pliers and torches (one-on-one with instructor) to create works in metal. The Brett Surrency Soccer Camp provides campers with a demanding and challenging soccer environment. However, making the experience fun and exciting is core to the success of our program. The BSSC staff is comprised of seasoned collegiate coaches and players with a passion for developing todays youth. Campers will build a world that comes to life with the gentle Brontosaurus, ferocious Velociraptor, terrifying T.Rex, and many more. We?ll learn about amazing dinosaurs that lived during the Jurassic period, and other extinct, prehistoric animals that roamed the earth and swam the seas during that era and millions of years later. Lego Simple Machines - Morgan Park Academy
In this hands-on class, campers will use the LEGO system to create simple machines. They will learn about levers, pulleys, axels, wheels, and gears through activates designed to challenge the young engineer.
