Awareness, avoidance, and physical techniques are all key features of self-defense training. This camp for both girls and boys will focus on concepts and techniques that are practical, simple and applicable to todays world. Discussion on potential threats and negative situations will be included along with tips for avoiding danger and physical practice for self-protection. Our experienced instructor will facilitate the building of a safe, fun learning environment in this invaluable camp! All registrants agree to the policies and procedures of Youth Programs, including change fees, cancellation fees, deadlines, and other details found in the program materials and parent handbook. Teen Theatre Boot Camp Be in a one act musical where YOU have input to the character development, blocking, costume design and sets as you rehearse and create the production. Be trained by local directors in drama, dance, and voice. Everyone gets a part in the show. An exercise in creativity all around. This is a great environment to push yourself as an actor, try something new, and see how it works out. Together with your cast, create the set pieces, props, and costume pieces. Our Directors always see a difference in the abilities of performers who have participated in a Theater Immersion Camp. What is a Theater Immersion Camp? A show in a week! Let's get our Oakland youth to Camp Common Ground Oakland! - Oakland,
Thank you so much for supporting Camp Common Ground's effort to get our youth leaders in Oakland to camp! Your attendance and participation at the launch of our second fundraiser will be imperative to ensuring that our youth from diverse racial and economic backgrounds can stand together this summer to break down barriers that exist between their communities. Come hungry and ready to drink, and don't forget your laptops, smartphones, tablets, etc. that we will use to get the word out about the fundraiser to all of our networks! What's the impact we will make in one day? The fundraiser will last for the entire month of March. During last month's fundraiser, Camp Common Ground supporters exceeded the fundraising goal of $4800. The $5400 raised will bring 4 Oakland youth to camp. During this fundraiser, we will raise $13,200, which will bring 16 more Oakland youth to camp--6 more on full scholarships and 10 on partial scholarships. Looking forward to seeing you there!

A week full of fun and games! We will make sun prints, have water relay races, play parachute and fishing games, pretend to go camping in the courtyard, make bird feeders, and have extra fun with water and bubbles! Would you like to be able to bake easy desserts and breads that will have your friends thinking you slaved in the kitchen for hours? We will be learning to make delicious baked treats including Linzer (jam) tarts, bagels, chocolate walnut coffee (decaf) muffins and more.
