Join us as we take art to This is the Place Park. We will meet on location and will set-up our drawing boards to sketch pioneer-era architecture, gardens, and people in period costume. We will use several mediums including: pencil, charcoal, pastel, watercolor, markers, and ink. This is a great time to learn new art techniques while spending time outdoors and learning about Utahs history. We will provide all the supplies as well as a VAI t-shirt for all students. All Pack Event. Enjoy the wonderful Oregon Coast while working on your rank advancement and our Summertime Pack Award. Exact timing is TBD, but the dates are reserved. I have reserved 30 scout and 10 adults slots. We have time to adjust, but the sooner we get this nailed down the better. I will have a sign up sheet for the next Pack/Den Meeting next Thursday for all those interested in going. There is a fee for this $243/Scout and $115/Adult. We do get a free adult admission for every 6 Scouts that go. At the next Committee Meeting we will discuss how we want to ration that out, either by need, or reduce everyone's cost equally, etc.

2016 Walk A Kid To Camp (-athon) - Puyallup, WA
The Salvation Army is hosting a walkathon to raise funds to help send children to summer camp. We offer several camp sessions lasting from three to eight days for children of various ages. Your child will be supervised by caring on-site counselors.There are three types of camping experiences for children ranging in age from six to sixteen which include; residential camps, day camps and teen wilderness camps. We need help raising the funds to supporting sending children to camp. Join us June 4 and help us send children to summer camp.

This camp is designed for those who are ready to advance their learning and exploration of the natural world. Connolly Ranch Stewards will get a behind-the-scenes perspective of Connolly Ranch and its natural history. Participants will have the opportunity to work on conservation projects, build natural shelters, learn advanced farm chores, explore rarely used areas, hike in the hills and delve into techniques, tactics and concepts that this older group is ready to explore. But its not all work! Our naturalists and teachers will guide these budding environmentalists in games and exercises that offer lots of fun while imparting important lessons about protecting open spaces and wild places. This camp will culminate with a campout on Thursday night including night hike, star gazing and storytelling by the fire. 707-224-1894

2016 Baroody Kayak Touring and Fishing Camp - Alexandria
Join Virginia Outside for an introduction to kayaking and kayak fishing. Our staff will instruct you on safety, paddling, and general maneuvering of a sit-on-top kayak. As you learn throughout the week at various locations, we will incorporate fishing, sightseeing and touring while paddling on all types of water. From local lakes and rivers like Bull Run, Fountainhead, and tidal creeks of the Potomac. We will progress to days on lazy rivers that include the Shenandoah, Rappahannock, and Rapidan Rivers. A kayak is a great way to get close to nature and we expect to see bald eagles, ospreys, herons, deer and beaver. When we are fishing our catch will include large and smallmouth bass, catfish, sunfish, crappie, and maybe even the infamous snakehead.
