Amazing Athletes Camp - Jefferson County Community Center
Sports instruction designed for preschool children to keep young athletes focused, active and having fun. They may explore soccer, basketball, football, T-ball, tennis and golf. Using special kid-friendly terms, your child will learn proper techniques for each sport, fundamentals of scoring, rules and terminology. Class includes proper warm-up, cardio exercise, muscle toning, hand-eye coordination drills, and speed and agility exercises. Children will have fun with a sports craft. James and the Giant Peach Musical - Villa Academy
Join Shea Salyer and Jacob Lucero for this years 3rd-8th grade musical, Roald Dahls James and the Giant Peach, Jr. This musical world-premiered at Seattle Childrens Theater in 2013. Auditions for lead roles will be Wednesday, January 13th from 2:15pm-6:00pm with rehearsals beginning Tuesday, January 26th, 3:00-5:30pm. Rehearsals are every Tuesday and Thursday that school is in session with performances from May 4-7th, 2016. When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion which results in a tremendous peach - and launches a journey of enormous proportions. Suddenly, James finds himself in the center of the gigantic peach among human-sized insects with equally oversized personalities, but after it falls from the tree and rolls into the ocean, the group faces hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements. Thanks to James quick wit and creative thinking, the residents learn to live and work together as a family. The dangerous voyage is a success, but the adventure takes a whole new twist once they land on the Empire State Building. Marinwoods camp for middle school students mixes the skills taught in babysitter training with the fun of camp! Campers will learn basic child care, the business of babysitting, become certified in Pediatric CPR and First Aid, and receive an American Red Cross Babysitter Training Certificate. They will also practice cooking skills, learn kid-friendly games, go swimming and have the opportunity to work with our youngest camps. This week will leave campers with the confidence and knowledge to start taking care of little ones! Camp fee includes babysitter handbook & certificate and First Aid/CPR certification.
