Fun, Eco Friendly Summer Camp for teens. Come learn about found object art, nature in art, paper making, natural dying and so much more! Then once camp is over, we will have a special Gallery Showing of all the artists pieces at the June Trolley Hop. An environment encouraging use of the imagination, learning to take care of our Earth and discovering everyone is an artist! This will be at our new facility at 2216 Frankfort Avenue.

Youth in Emergency Preparedness Camp - Weslaco, TX
This summer from June 19, 2016 to June 23, 2016, the Rio Grande Valley Medical Reserve Corps and the Weslaco Fire Department are hosting a Youth Preparedness Camp. The camp is for Rio Grande Valley teenagers between the ages of 14-18. There are three man components of the Youth Preparedness Camp. Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training – All camp participants (including the adult sponsor) receive the full basic CERT course complete with certification. The basic CERT program is delivered as one component of camp in an effort to educate youth about disaster preparedness and provide them the skills they need to support local first responders in an emergency situation, if needed. This training includes lessons on fire safety, basic first aid, search and rescue, incident command system (ICS), and disaster psychology, among others. In addition to classroom-based lessons, youth are given ample opportunity to practice their skills through hands-on activities, tabletop discussions, and exercises. The CERT training culminates in a large full-scale exercise in which youth allocate resources, attend to live role playing victims, and interact with real first responders. Book Talk and Signing of "Summer Resorts & Kid's Camps" - Vassalboro,
Starting at 6pm Dale Potter-Clark will discuss the process and research that led to the writing of "The Founders and Evolution of Summer Resorts and Kids' Camps on Four Lakes in Central Maine". There will be time for Q&A followed by book signings. Books will be available for sale following the talk.

Wordplay, swordplay, and insult swapping abound – and they get to do it in costume! SETSCO will provide everything except underwear, shoes, and lunch. Tuition is $235. Ages 9-17.

Drifters of the Deep (session 1) - California State University, Monterey Bay
Do you know what microscopic forms of life exist in one drop of seawater? You wont believe your eyes! Encounter bizarre larval creatures from sea stars to crabs to jellies! Discover the world of drifting plankton that plays a vital role in sustaining life in our fragile ocean ecosystem. Youll explore below the surface of Monterey Bay with mask and snorkel. Then to top it off, while whale watching, youll search for krill blooms and the marine mammals that survive on them! Campers must be able to swim. 831-582-3681

This class is for coming 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade artists. Let me enrich your childs summer with a 6 week study of art. Sign up for a private hour of art in which I will come to your home and work with your child. The hour will include: working with the Elements and Principles of Design, experimenting with various media and techniques and learning to mount and display finished pieces, and connecting to art history. If there are siblings that are in the required grade levels, it will be an additional $63 for each additional artist. This fee includes all supplies.
