Elementary Engineers Theres nothing truly elementary about the engineering skills that these future builders will acquire – not to mention honing their problem solving skills. It all begins with using KNEX to create our simple machines. Future engineers will learn to problem solve as they build a variety of amazing simple mechanisms as well as be encouraged to build their own discoveries. The possibilities are endless! Camp Gulls: Week 5 - Warren-Walker La Mesa Campus
DAILY ACTIVITIES: Camp Gulls action-packed program features a variety of daily and weekly activities. Students are divided into age-appropriate groupings and are provided a dynamic schedule that balances academic, athletic, and artistic pursuits. Each week will have a theme that ties classes and field trips together. While the theme is the same for all age-groups, the individual classes and field trips may differ. Extended Care & Point Loma Bus (if needed) are included in the camp tuition. THIS WEEKS THEME: Mystery & Magic Classes and activities, such as Super Sleuths, CSI, Mythology, Mystery Theatre, Secrets of Coding, Magic Made Easy, and Scavenger Hunts will all inspire curious campers! Tap for Beginners (Youth) - The Little Theatre of Alexandria
This course is designed as an introductory course for children who are interested in trying tap for the first time or would like to work on their technique and tap vocabulary. In this class the students will learn the basics of the American Musical Theatre tap dance style, as well as choreography to at least one song. Students will learn basic tap terminology along with tap performing techniques which will provide the student with a well-rounded knowledge of tap dance. This class is designed for 2nd-8th grade students. INSTRUCTOR MICHAEL PAGE graduated from Christopher Newport University with a Bachelors degree in Theater, focusing on Musical Theater Performance, Directing, Dance/Choreography, and Lighting. He has been very active for the past 10 years in the Alexandria theater community, working with theaters such as; MVCCT, PCP, ACCT, and LTA. He has directed, choreographed, and fight choreographed children and adults alike.
