Summer Farmers 1: Farm Friends - Terra Firma Farm
Walk in the footsteps of a farmer for a week, and experience what it takes to be a good farmer and naturalust. Architectural Adventures - Middle School
Architectural Adventures combines science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts in a uniquely fun and challenging way valuable for young people to enjoy, that allows hands-on learning experiences. Children will be inspired by building upon their natural curiosity to learn about different aspects of modern architecture. For example, a ‘green engineering unit allows students to create, test, and refine architectural designs involving the use of alternative energy and environmental awareness. Students will learn how to build efficient wind powered machines and discover how these machines can help reduce fuel consumption. Throughout the week, students will apply basic engineering design concepts to create, test, and refine a variety of machines and mechanical systems, including cars, planes, and cranes. Students will also learn the basics of fluid dynamics while constructing roller coasters and other vehicles, culminating in the construction of an incredibly fast air powered dragster that students get to keep at the end of the course. Students will also compete in groups to build the highest structure! Safety Camp - Blue Heron Elementary School
Lino Lakes Public Safety Department, Centennial Lakes Police Department, Centennial Fire District, Lexington Fire Department, and Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department present the Annual Safety Camp! Unintentional injuries are the leading cause of serious injury and/or death of children. This camp is taught by those who respond to those types of incidents each day in an effort to reduce the numbers of injuries that occur each year. The camp includes sessions on bike safety, fire safety, 911 procedure, water safety, personal safety, electrical safety, outdoor safety and first aid - all in an informative and fun atmosphere. The knowledge campers learn will allow them to make the right decisions when faced with unsafe conditions. Safety Camp is intended for children entering 4th grade the fall of 2016. Pre-registration is required and limited to the first 150 participants Priority will be given to residents residing in Lino Lakes, Circle Pines, Lexington, and Centerville until June 17. Adventure Tennis Camp - Off Site Location
Tennis 3.5 hours per day Adventure 2.5 hours per day During the first part of the day, campers join our regular tennis camp and have lunch. Children will be divided by level and develop tennis strokes, rallying skills, and age appropriate competitive play. Campers learn teamwork, make friends and enjoy fun games like Angry Birds Tennis, Skyball, and Big Kahuna. All camps feature Higgins Bucks, Water Fun Day (no swimming) and the Higgins Bucks Store where children buy prizes on Fridays. In the afternoons we set out on an Adventure! Pottery Camp Morning, Ages 9-12 - The Yard School of Art At Montclair Art Museum
SummerART Camp Pottery Morning Program 9:30am to 1:45pm Pottery Camp Session III: July 25 to August 5 Pottery Camp This camp is for children who are interested specifically in working with clay to create pottery, sculpture, and more. Campers are grouped in age-specific classes (6 to 8, and 9 to 12). Campers will have the opportunity to use the Museums diverse collection of Native American pottery as inspiration. Much of the work created in Pottery Camp will be kiln fired, some will be functional, some will be decorative, and all of it will be treasured for years to come. Much of this artwork will be displayed at the receptions in Leir Hall at the end of each session.
