Mandarin Language Summer School This program is interactive, immersive, and culturally rich for children learning Mandarin. A credentialed, experienced Immersion Teacher and a native speaker child care staff member teach each class. Enrollment is limited to approximately 20 students per class. You must enroll for all four weeks of instruction. All class materials are supplied in addition to a healthy snack. After Mandarin Immersion Summer School Camp Footsteps Mandarin Immersion Summer Camp is an opportunity for extended Mandarin immersion. While having a fantastic time, your child will begin to acquire the ability to use Mandarin correctly and confidently in various daily tasks and social situations. Our dynamic, experienced staff is either native speaking or fluent. Campers spend each day moving from one activity to the next, designed to provide an immersion experience while still allowing for a ton of fun. Your child will love exploring the language and traditions of China, using Chinese words, learning about the four great inventions of China, creating traditional Mandarin arts and textiles, and taking field trips to expand your childs knowledge. Acoma Bears A, Full Day - Hopkins Campus
Join Camp Acoma Bears for a summer of action, creation and relaxation in six unique sessions. Local field trips serve as capstones and opportunities for more hands-on learning and adventure. A foundation of Camp Acoma is developing strong relationships with other campers and counselors. Blake faculty and counselors who are caring role models with unique talents lead Camp Acoma. Our counselor-to-student ratio is below 1:8. Dedicated arts and physical education faculty deepen athletic and artistic experiences throughout each session. Please pack a nut-free lunch, afternoon snack and water bottle for your child each day. Refrigerators and microwaves are not available. Camp Acoma Bears takes full advantage of Blakes rolling acres, pool (Hopkins campus only), gymnasium, ice arena (Hopkins campus only) and nearby lakes. Each session offers hours of swimming lessons and water-based activities. A personalized swim assessment guides the instruction of each child and Red Cross Certified lifeguards serve as instructors. New or reluctant swimmers will be guided gently in water adjustment and learn-to-swim exercises. Ice skating in Blakes arena will be offered twice a week (Hopkins campus only). The SNWP Saturday Writing Camp is the ideal experience for young authors of all skill levels who enjoy the writing process and want to gain experience with different genres. Campers explore the wondrous world of pre-historic creatures and fossils! Learn what life was like back when dinosaurs, giant reptiles and bugs ruled the earth. Campers will meet a variety of dinosaurs and learn about their habitats and food supply. Sample projects include a Pteranodon model, panning for gems and minerals, building a volcano, casting a seashell model, and a dinosaur egg dig.
