**Participants MUST be registered in a class to be able to participate in this production. Seussical Jr! Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat, our narrator, tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child who gets in trouble for thinking too many "thinks." Hortons challenge is twofold - not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must also guard an abandoned egg thats been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping, and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community are challenged and emerge triumphant! All who register will be cast. Auditions Saturday, February 13th , from 2 - 5 for part placement. Take a step into a whimsical world of creation and imagination when you enter Touchstones enchanted forest. You will embark on a journey between worlds, as we create beautiful art from nature. Whether you are painting with mud or building a collaborative sculpture, this week of wonder and intrigue is one you dont want to miss! Working outside and in the studio, individually and collaboratively, you will end this week with greater art making skills and a better understanding of our surrounding world. Emma Davidson earned her BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Between 2012 and 2015, she was on staff at Touchstone Center for Crafts and worked as a teaching artist for various organizations in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Currently, Emma is living Juneau, Alaska, where she is enjoying a year-long, dual art and teaching residency at the Canvas. Her artwork has exhibited in several states and are part of SCADs permanent collection. 724-329-1370
