Week 8: Day Camp Assistant Training (Leadership Development) - Camp Tanadoona
Day Camp Assistant (DCA) Training is the first step in Tanadoonas leadership development program. DCAs spend the first half of the week engaging in teambuilding workshops and interactive leadership training with lead camp staff. Training includes first aid, behavior management, specialty programming and basic counselor skills. DCAs immediately apply their training when they are partnered with Tanadoona Counselors to assist with Day Camp groups during the second half of the week. Staying overnight on Thursday to help with the Thursday Overnight campers provides additional experiential learning. We recommend a minimum of two years of DCA before progressing to CIT. 612-235-7284
Mt. Tam Adventure Camps: Super Summer Fun Camp - Martin Luther King Park
Entering 2nd - 5th Grade: Traditional summer camp with several activities throughout the day. Join our enthusiastic staff of trained recreation leaders for a fun mix of activities, crafts, sports and fun surprises. Camp offers a safe, nurturing environment in which children are free to explore new things, meet new friends, and create summer memories that last a lifetime. The program is designed to cater to the community with a traditional fun camp offering for grade school aged children. Staff are trained to listen and treat kids with respect by getting involved and giving kids the attention they need. Kids bring sack lunches Monday-Thursday. Healthy Snacks and Water are provided throughout the day. Friday is a camp provided Pizza Lunch day - please disclose/discuss any food allergies or dietary needs of your camper with camp staff. Lycée International de Los Angeles (LILA) will be offering a bilingual French and English program for children between the ages of 15 and 30 months old. The program, Mommy & Moi, will teach French to parents and children in a warm, loving, and supportive environment. Music and playtime activities will help children in their language acquisition while parents, some of them learning alongside their children, will also be able to participate in discussions on their childrens development. 323-665-4526
