Tennis 3 - Brigham Young University
Join BYU mens tennis head coach Brad Pearce for a week of incredible tennis! Learn strategies, tactics and techniques through drills, on-court instruction and singles and doubles play. Players will receive instruction on the fundamentals of all major strokes and will practice these strokes through feeding, live-ball drilling and competitive match-play. Students will hone their skills as they have an opportunity to advance through each of five stations that are set up to practice every aspect of their game. They will also have an opportunity to improve their fitness and participate in competitive off-court games that focus on enhancing their flexibility through stretching, agility and endurance. In addition, they will play competitive matches in both singles and doubles. This is excellent preparation for anyone interested in participating in high school tennis or preparing to compete in USTA leagues and/or tournaments. On Friday of each week, all participants will play in an individual singles tournament against players that are at their level. Trophies are awarded for the winners and runner-ups, but all will play multiple matches. The camp concludes after the tournament on Friday with an awards ceremony. This Camp is a week-long art experience with Darlene Marshall and Mike Gibson. Campers will learn about artists, art techniques, and dabble in art history. Both sessions are identical. For ages 8-11. This camp runs Monday through Friday from 10 am to noon. LOCATION G.W. Carver Art Room at G. W. Carver Elementary
Visual Arts & Nature - Maple Hill Farm
Build your skills in drawing and painting! Learn to see more clearly, and express yourself through the visual arts. This program provides opportunities for painting and field sketching as well as exploration of Beaver Brooks beautiful fields, forests, and streams. There will be opportunities for direct drawing of animals as well as from prints of outstanding artwork produced by artists from around the world. Through games and stories, youll also learn more about the lives of the plants and animals of the Northeast. Campers will implement some of the most popular Minecraft mods including Biomes OPlenty, Decocraft, Twilight Forest, Optifine, Pixelmon, as well as mods of the campers choice! This camp will be enhanced with a special multi-player map that will pit teams against each other in a race to the end! All campers ARE REQUIRED to have a Minecraft™ account for this class.
