LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Latin and Greek Cognates - Morgan Park Academy
It is estimated that 60% of the terminology college students will face come from words formed from ancient Greek and Latin affixes and root words. Knowing how to break down a word which has been formed from Greek or Latin can help a student not only build a working vocabulary, but also help a student construct a basic meaning for a new or unfamiliar word. Students who learn this skill see their vocabularies grow and their anxiety lessen. As students who enter college are faced with not only increased amounts of reading, but also increased difficulty in those readings, having the skill to navigate these readings, assignments, and exams makes academic success much more easily attainable. Teen MMA Summer Camp at GCBJJ - Grove City, OH
GCBJJ will be hosting an MMA camp for teens (age 13-17). This camp will cover all aspects of MMA including: Boxing, Muay Thai kickboxing, Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Conditioning. No experience necessary. Cost is $125 per teen. Only equipment they will need is a mouthpiece. We will provide all other equipment. Wear comfortable workout clothes and bring a couple extra changes of clothes. The participants can pack a lunch (we have a fridge and a microwave, or there are three pizza places, Arby's and Subway that are all within walking distance.

The Germantown Friends School Wrestling Camp is open to students of any ability. Our goal is to give you a dynamic week of training tailored to your ability that will help build the foundation for a great wrestling career. We provide a safe, enjoyable environment and emphasize the ethical aspects of the sport. Participants will work on techniques in the morning, including set-up actions, positions, throws, offense, counter offense, bottom, and more. Live wrestling will take place during the afternoon. The camp will be divided into two groups, junior wrestlers (grades 1 - 5) and senior wrestlers (grades 6 - 12). GFS Wrestling coach and former college wrestler Paul Hammond will not only be directing the camp, but he also will be sharing his passion for the sport he has been practicing since he was fourteen.
