The church of Christ in Folsom, California will be hosting a free Bible study for teenagers and college students during the weekend of April 15-17, 2016. We usually hold this annual Bible study on the third weekend in April (except when Easter falls on that weekend, and then another April weekend is selected). During this weekend, participants will attend a Friday night singing and a Bible study on Saturday morning and afternoon. The age group for visitors at this event is current high school students (9th to 12th grades) and college-aged young people. Marlena Vendemia - Bio Marlena Vendemia worked in the corporate fitness setting before earning her M.S. in Exercise Physiology from The Pennsylvania State University. She currently holds a position as a Penn State fitness instructor working with pregnant women as part of the Healthy Moms Research Study. Most recently, Marlena earned her 200-hour registered yoga teacher certification. She found her yoga practice as a stay at home mother to her two small children. Marlena was drawn to pursue this certification due to the benefits she found through her own yoga practice. Her yoga practice has allowed her to find space, connection and possibility through the physical experience, things she hopes to help other students find as well. Ocean Explorers (Week 10 PM) - Rube Goldberg Outdoor Science - NESS
Use the Rube Goldberg philosophy to plan, create, and build new contraptions in the outdoors. Experiment with the Rube Goldberg design process, create a new feeding method for the aquarium animals, make a safe animal catching device, and create your own apparatus that can function in the outdoors. Imagination Station (5-8) - Peninsula Fine Arts Center
Dragons, fairies, monsters, and more...oh my! Fire up your imagination and dive into the storybook realm. Make swords, design castles, and create magical wings! Join us as we explore a world of fantasy and imagination! Campers should bring lunch, drinks and two snacks (due to allergies, please make sure all food is peanut free) PFACs camps are led by one teaching artist per 12-15 students with assistance from Camp Counselors.
