Learn about and paint different aspects of Nepal and its culture in this Crossing Cultures program. From Monks to foods to the Himalayan Mountains, well explore colors, texture, people and more. Participants will play with mindfulness through art, auditory exploration, visualization, and communication literacy. 970.728.3886

as your child ever wondered where their food comes from and where their trash goes? In Camp Green Science, campers will investigate, discover and explore how the choices we make have a direct impact on the environment we live in and learn simple things we can do to reduce our carbon footprint. Through fun, interactive activities, theyll learn about renewable energy including sun, wind, water and even potatoes! Theyll see the Greenhouse effect up close and learn how cow burps are related to trash and climate change. Campers will learn how to clean our oceans, purify drinking water, and start a compost pile. Theyll investigate why the rainforest needs to be saved, make their own paper, plant seeds in recycled paper planters, and taste fresh honey. Theyll snack on solar smores and swamp juice smoothies. The San Jose Museum of Art, full-day art camps offer in-depth art experiences for South Bay youth. Our campers gain access to the Museums galleries outside of normal operating hours as they discover artistic design principles through drawing, painting, and sculpting techniques! Led by Museum faculty and inspired by our current exhibitions, the Museums popular Art Camps teach kids how to look at, talk about, and create their own art. Each student receives an art supply kit containing all the materials they need, and the camp culminates in a one-day public exhibition of student work. Young artists explore drawing, painting mixed media, sculpture, and design as they visit the galleries to gather inspiration from exhibited artwork. Neighborhood Park Camp at La Pintoresca Park is a traditional, high-quality camp that is fun and affordable. Activities include arts and crafts, physical fitness games and challenges, dance, visits to the library, enrichment activities and swimming. Campers play basketball, soccer, volleyball and softball. Instruction is also offered in golf and tennis. Campers are escorted to Robinson Park Recreation Centers swimming pool for recreational swim two times per week. Staff go into the water with the campers and certified lifeguards are always present. Fun field trips are often the highlight of the week. Trips are an additional charge and are scheduled for once a week. This camp is a good fit for active campers who like sports and group activities. The ratio of staff to campers is 1 to 10. Campers are grouped by age, and lunch and a snack are provided. Camp culminates in the annual ?War Games? in which Washington Park Camp and La Pintoresca Park Camps compete in a series of challenges to determine an annual camp champion.
