The Purpose of this yoga series is to introduce teens and tweens to the practice of yoga while incorporating "mat chats" to process feelings, thoughts,and reactions to daily challenges they may face. The series is broken down for tweens and teens. Tweens ages 10-12: Aug 8th at 12:15pm to 1:15pm Teens ages 13-17: Aug 8th from 1:30pm to 3pm This series will be on both Mon and Wed with the last class held on Aug 24th.

Work Weekend - Holcombe, WI
Always work to do to get the camp ready for the campers. Two roofs will have steel installed on them, cleaning of the chapel and some of the cabins, yard work. We will also be switching the shop and the game room so lots of hands will be needed there. At least 9 holes of miniaturegolf will be moved to the area around the garage (soon to be game room). Food will be provided. Let us know if you will be staying overnight so some cabins will be cleaned and ready. For those staying over Saturday night there will be a chapel service on Sunday morning. Lots of hands make light work so join us for a weekend of working, fishing, fellowshipping and enjoying God’s great outdoors.

Honors Pre-Calculus - Hopkins Campus
This course is open to Blake students who have successfully completed Honors Algebra II and who seek to enroll in AP Calculus AB after completing Honors Geometry; Blake students who have successfully completed Honors Algebra II and Honors Geometry and who seek to enroll in AP Calculus AB; Students from outside Blake who seek to complete the equivalent of a full-year Honors Pre-Calculus course during the summer. They must possess a strong foundation in algebra because the course contains advanced material and moves at a rapid pace; it is not recommended for remedial purposes. Before registering, Blake students must obtain their teachers permission to advance, as indicated by a signed Mathematics Acceleration Contract. Successful advancement requires a grade of B or higher on each of the comprehensive exams given during the summer course. This course emphasizes functions and their characteristics. Topics include: function notation and transformations; combinations and compositions of functions; linear, quadratic, polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic and trigonometric functions; and analytical trigonometry. In addition, sequences, series, parametric equations and limits are introduced in preparation for calculus. Supervisor: Susan Lutz. A popular camp combination - Art Extravagnza and Super Clay is a two-week camp. During this camp, kids will explore and discover their own unique ideas while using many different art mediums. This week delves deeper into the Lego Mindstorms robotics systems. Attendees will learn more about programming the Mindstorms robots and practice more advanced build techniques while making some cool Lego robot projects. This camp runs from 9AM-3PM, M-F. Lunch is provided. This camp is open to students entering 6th-9th grade.
