NASIMCO is pleased to announce the 2016 Youth Leadership Retreat with the theme of “Thinking Outside the Box: Making Your Voice Count!” This year the retreat will be held in sunny Orlando, Florida. It is an initiative led by youth with the vision of creating a forum for dialogue to enhance the ability of participants to think outside the box, engage in self-reflection, become socially conscious and have the confidence to act upon it in their local and global communities. This year’s retreat is hosted by the Husseini Islamic Center of Florida, INC. at the Warren W. Willis United Methodist Camp in sunny Fruitland Park, Florida. The retreat will combine facilitated workshops, debates, dialogue and recreational activities in order to optimize learning opportunities for all participants. It will take place during the Labour Day weekend, from September 2nd to September 5th, 2016. The intended participants are all youth ages 18 to 25. Registration is USD $200.00 per participant, which includes food, lodging, and ground transportation within Orlando. Spaces at the retreat are limited to 30 participants. These artists experimented with depicting the world using fantastic colors, and a bold and expressive style of brushwork. Imagination runs wild as we combine different favorite fairy tales with each other to make some hilarious new tales. What if the Big, Bad Wolf got tangled in Rapunzels hair, or Cinderella had to help the Three Little Pigs build their houses and was allergic to straw or Goldilocks got lost and wound up at Grandmas House instead of the Three Bears?
