LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Lego EV3 Robotics - Universalist Unitarian Church - Arlington
Lego EV3 Robotics (Ages 8 through 12) This program introduces students to the exciting world of robotics. Students will use the Lego Mindstorms EV3 elements to program their robots to solve a series of challenges everyday. They will build using motors of different power and experiment with touch, ultrasonic, gyro, and color sensor to play fun games such as hockey and sumo wrestling. Lessons will cover topics in computer science, technology, engineering, math, and science. Campers will learn fundamentals of programming blocks such as loops, conditional operations, and the use of variables to store sensor values; and will learn how to program remote control, create parallel programming, and use computers, Bluetooth, and other technologies to connect with their robots. After mastering the basics of Lego EV3 building and programming, students will be immersed in a series of challenging Mars missions: launch the satellite, collect rocks, activate communications, save the robot, secure the power supply, and return to base safely. Students will be encouraged to build and test several designs and programs while collaborating and communicating with each other to successfully complete these tasks. 703-244-0585

This Girl Scout Camp is nestled in nature’s paradise between meadows, woodlands and a beach area. My 11 year old daughter loves to participate in archery, swimming, kayaking, crafts, boating and hiking. She has developed a love for nature along with improved social skills. Residential Camp-Young Elite Boys & Girls - Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium
The overall goal of the Camp is to educate and challenge players of all levels, while focusing the serious soccer player towards achieving their next level. Camp will offer both technical and tactical sessions, delivered by our nationally recognized coaching staff. Campers will be placed into age and ability specific groups as to optimize the environment for each players development. Our curriculum is designed to challenge each player through the combination of small and big-sided match play coupled with daily training sessions focused on various technical and tactical aspects. A recruiting seminar for high school campers will be offered during camp. This camp is geared toward the serious soccer player who has aspirations of playing in high school, college or beyond. 817-257-6680

The emphasis on sportsmanship and building self-confidence and character makes this camp a great fit for youth who love traditional team sports as well as those who are more drawn to an individual sport. Camp includes a test-your-skills finale, surprise guest speakers, awards, a free t-shirt and recognition for most improved camper.
