Is your teen bored already? Sign him/her up for our week long beginning sewing boot camp running Monday through Friday, July 19 through 22 from 10 am to 2 pm daily. They will learn basic hand sewing techniques by hand making their own pin cushion and then graduate to sewing a pillowcase, pajama pants a skirt and other cool stuff., including getting to participate in a community project. You will need to bring your own sewing machine if you have one, and basic sewing supplies. A list of fabrics and notions will be sent to you once you have registered. Cost is $100. The Solon Recreation Department offers two day camps that run in conjunction with one another. The Summer Camp is for pre-kindergarten to fourth graders (child must be at least 5 years old and no older than 12 on their first day of camp). The Adventure Camp is for current fifth & sixth graders (child must be 12 years old or younger on their first day of camp). Camp consists of sports, swimming, activities, field trips and much, much more. The schedules and activities are age appropriately planned. The Spring Skills Academy is designed to help players master need fundamental skills that will allow them to be successful in games. This program is perfect for players of all skill levels that want to master the basics. The following skills will be taught: Shooting mechanics, footwork, ball handling, passing, finishing, defense, how to use screens & fundamental moves. Pure Sweat Elite Skills coach, Matt Pugh will lead the Hannibal, MO Spring Skills Academy. The training days available are Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Training times are TBD. All scheduling will be coordinated by Matt Pugh.
