Please consider donating items, we all have that pile of stuff that we are ready to donate after our spring cleaning and then let's go SHOPPING at this important event for our youth! Please share with your friends, who doesn't like to garage sale?!?! If you need your donation items picked up please contact our Youth Minister, Ben Miller, for those details. Items can be brought to the gym as early as January 23rd.
AAC Summer Theatre Camp 2016 in partnership - Jasper, AL
This summer program will introduce students ranging from rising third graders to high school seniors to all aspects of the creative and technical sides of musical theatre production. From the audition to the final curtain, students will not only star in the production, they will also learn what it takes to put on a show. The program will include instruction in acting, voice, dance, set, costume, sound and lighting design and more. The camp meets Monday – Thursday each week from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and Friday 9:00am – noon. The curriculum is designed to build fundamental skills such as balance, coordination and ball skills. Our fast-paced, fun exposure to the most popular sport in the world opens up your kids minds. Classes focus on foot-eye coordination, balance, dribbling, shooting, passing and the basic fundamentals of soccer. Our classes will also introduce the concepts of teamwork and cooperation. Our main goal is to provide a fun and comfortable environment for your child to learn. Marlena Vendemia - Bio Marlena Vendemia worked in the corporate fitness setting before earning her M.S. in Exercise Physiology from The Pennsylvania State University. She currently holds a position as a Penn State fitness instructor working with pregnant women as part of the Healthy Moms Research Study. Most recently, Marlena earned her 200-hour registered yoga teacher certification. She found her yoga practice as a stay at home mother to her two small children. Marlena was drawn to pursue this certification due to the benefits she found through her own yoga practice. Her yoga practice has allowed her to find space, connection and possibility through the physical experience, things she hopes to help other students find as well. Her goal is to bring classes filled with truth, authenticity, love and fun to the State College community. In addition to teaching yoga at The PYP Studio, State College, Marlena also serves on the school board for Our Lady of Victory Preschool and on the advisory board for Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, University Park Campus.
