The week before our son was getting ready for the camp he was planning out all the things he wanted to do. Top of the list were the rifle shooting and archery. Of course, he got to try a little bit of everything. Now when I ask what his favorite thing to do at Camp Bear Track was he changes every five minutes! He even seems to like golf! Documentary Teen Camp - Houston, TX
Young film enthusiasts learn how to make documentaries in a safe and fun environment. Learn story development, camera operation, lighting, sound, interviewing, editing and work with a real orchestra to score your final film. Invite your friends and family to watch your final documentary on screen. The campers will work with the music students in the film scoring program during the AFA's 2016 Summer Music Conservatory at Pershing Middle School. They will be documenting the AFA students' progress and the finished piece will be screened on July 29th at the MATCH. Cost: $275 REGISTER AT www.swamp.org

During this special Boot Camp Fitness Class hosted by Michelle Stiglitz, you will sweat your way through a series of various exercise all to support a good cause. The class will be held outdoors in Clove Lakes park. We will meet promptly at 9:00am on the Martling Avenue Bridge (near the Staten Island Zoo parking lot) Please bring a mat or towel and a bottle of water. *All fitness levels are welcome to participate! To sign up for this fun morning of outdoor fitness, a minimum donation of $25 per person is required. Please be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes early. We will start promptly at 9:00 am. Our students explore the many elements of the visual arts. During the session, students are exposed to a variety of artistic styles, cultural interpretations, and mediums. The elements of brainstorming and more complex forms of problem solving are introduced through interactive format. Students begin to talk enthusiastically about possibilities. They become more confident in their attempts at self expression. Their destination of their own personal style gets closer. 256-830-4741
Early Reader Program - Valle Verde Elementary
Classroom: D-8 Instructor: Active Reading Center () This reading class is designed for first and second grade students who have difficulty learning to read in traditional environments. We utilize play activities that help emerging readers learn letter sounds, and blend those sounds into words. All teaching is done by trained teachers from the Active Reading Center. A brief evaluation of each students abilities will be provided at the end of the session. Students may be recommended for work with a reading teacher on a one-on-one basis. Star Wars Robotics and Engineering Camp - The Surge Community Center
Live the excitement of Star Wars™ in a one of a kind Lego Summer Camp where children build incredible and unique creations from the Star Wars™ universe – unlike anything that theyve built before. Bring these favorite Star Wars™ creations to life by designing and constructing remote-controlled vehicles, robots and spaceships employing Lego Technic parts and up to four Lego Technic motors. Through building complex, unique, and exciting projects and understanding the dynamic mechanisms associated with them, summer camp students gain knowledge on engineering principles, scientific theories and facts about the universe. The Star Wars™ Lego Camp curriculum presents an excellent opportunity for students to learn numerous physics and mechanics principles such as torque, power, complex gear trains, locomotion, mechanical advantages, and much more!
