Teen Bring a Friend Weekend - De Leon Springs, FL
For youngsters in grades 5 through 10. Campers are allowed to bring a friend of the same sex and approximate age if they so choose. This weekend program allows for interactions amongst peer groups and a learning experience for those campers without diabetes. Educational sessions relating to Teen Issues, School Issues and How To-Be-A Friend are lead by the pediatric endocrinologists, nurses, dietitians and mental health professionals. Networking and the support of their peers is critical to this age. Campers are also treated to activities such as a beach party, luau, casino night and land sports.

(Ages 4-7) Our youngest artists will have an exciting time becoming printmakers. Students will engage in group activities designed to promote teamwork and creative thinking through the creation of a collaborative class project, will make their own stamps and printing plates, use an etching press and have a stomping good time with Miss Marjorie! Storytellers (Ages 4-7) Storytelling helps students improve their language skills, instills a love of reading and stirs imaginations. In this first-time class, talented professor of visual art Jennifer Pepper will guide students through painting, drawing and mixed media activities based on a variety of classic and contemporary children’s stories. Sculpt This! (Ages 8-12) Students will explore sculpture by examining the distinct ways artists have explored 3D forms throughout history. We will examine a variety of materials used by sculptors and learn techniques that artists use to communicate their ideas and feelings in three dimensions and get inspired to create their own! This is a Leadership Camp that will be held on the campus of Christian Brothers University. The students will reside on campus during this week and will partake in leadership exercises, classes, and community service projects each day. We have leaders from around the city that will be in attendance each day to meet each student and to ensure they are in the know about what is going on in the city. The students will have homework each day and will go through a rigorous course designed to mold the leaders of tomorrow. Join us for fun, engaging topics that explore economic and mathematics concepts to understand the world of finance and beyond. Investigate concepts such as supply, demand, scarcity and opportunity cost. Students will learn through interactive games and test their trading acumen by playing simulated rounds on the U.S. stock market using real stocks (but fake money!). School of Sharks (session 2) - California State University, Monterey Bay
Have you ever wondered how sharks hear sound, migrate across the ocean, or find prey? Unlock these mysteries as we explore the science behind the largest fishes in the sea! From understanding the importance of this top predators role in balancing the oceans ecosystem, to learning about conservation efforts to save endangered sharks, youll meet shark researchers who are discovering answers to these questions. Youre going to have fun, make new friendships, and maybe even meet your competitors. Youll also get some one on one advice from experienced coaches and athletes. Every day a Guest Olympian or an Elite Athlete will stop by to tell you their story and answer your questions. Youll leave with a plan and access to your camp coach through emails and phone calls until the end of cross country season. You can even bring your coach back home into the conversation. Whats Different? We love the camps with 200 runners sleeping in tents and getting crazy. Thats not this camp though. Youll be at Lewis and Clark College voted 2 nd nicest campus in the U.S. It has miles of running trails connected to the campus, a swimming pool, game room, and everything we need for camp. Instead of that tent or cabin you were hoping for youll be staying in a super nice college dorm. Sorry, no...
