Oh the things that live under rocks! If you only knew what cool creatures are under there, youd never snorkel in more than a foot of water again! Well spend a week turning over rocks to see what teeny-tiny creatures we can find living in the ocean. Marine worms, tiny crabs, tiny crustaceans and nudibranchs and all kinds of algae. Well bring some rocks to our tanks to watch more closely. Well leave no rock unturned. And since were talking about the highly prized wave zone (in wavier places), well crash around in our own splash zone and compete for space to imagine where a limpet or barnacle is supposed to go when all the rocks are full. Sammy Slug Summer Camp, Session #8b, Half Day - Youth Programs
Sammy Slug Summer Camp is offered by the Office of Physical Education, Recreation & Sports (OPERS) for boys and girls entering 1st through 6th grades. Based at the East Field House, this camp is offered in one-week sessions June to August. There are half day and full day options, and pre-camp and post camp care is available. Throughout the week the 5 camp tenants which are Responsibility, Respect, Leadership, Sportsmanship, and Team Building are reinforced and integrated into the curriculum. Camp activities include a variety of sports such as basketball, tennis, frisbee, and soccer; outdoor recreation such as hiking and swimming; and other arts, crafts and outings to keep the campers engaged, active and creative. With a camper to staff ratio of 10:1, the camp focuses on creating a safe environment with a program designed, implemented, and staffed by experienced recreation professionals and UCSC students. All staff are screened through a criminal background check, certified in First Aid/CPR and trained in safe practices. GRADES 1st - 5th LOCATION East Field House
Junior Football 1 - Brigham Young University
This fast-paced, four-day camp is packed with skill development, competition and fun. Instruction begins Monday morning and closes Wednesday afternoon, with sessions each morning and afternoon, making sure you get the best value for your money. Instruction is provided for all facets of the game including passing, running, receiving, blocking, tackling and pass defense. You will receive feedback from your coach each day as you go through drills and scrimmages. Throughout the camp you will have the chance to warm up with past BYU athletes, practice various drills, discuss strategy, and learn professional conditioning basics. If your child is Minecraft obssessed and dreams of making their own swords, items, blocks and mobs, and you as a parent want your child to learn the art of programming, then this is the camp for them. Kids will learn programming logic through activities both on and off the computer. Students will conceptualize, design and code their own custom Mod using Java, one of the most widely used programming languages today! Dont worry, they wont spend their whole time on the computer (although theyd like to!). We have lots of other fun minecrafty activities to keep their day active and balanced. (858)964-0645
