This camp is all about getting wet! Learn about the issues surrounding water locally and around the world. Well read a variety of books about water adventures and even have a river rafting adventure of our own! Campers will explore the waterways in our Yampa River Valley and try their hands at catching aquatic insects and fish. This camp includes an overnight rafting trip with Camp Splash II students. Students will attend camp in Steamboat M-W 8:30-5PM. Leave Steamboat early Thursday morning and return Friday at 1pm. 855-426-6587

OPAL's multi-racial youth program, Youth Environmental Justice Alliance, is organizing a community event to raise awareness about a campaign to sustain and expand the YouthPass program in Portland. Our goal for the campaign is to show the city, TriMet, our schools, and our community that affordable public transportation is important for youth to lead healthy lives, be able to thrive, and be successful. The youth-led event will officially launch our campaign and engage with community members and decision makers, especially in East Portland neighborhoods. There will be educational booths about transit justice, powerful youth testimonies, and cool performances! YouthPass to the Future Campaign: We want all high school students in Portland to be able to go to school and access opportunities that prepare them for success. Transit is an educational right! This class will give the vision and skills to get students to begin the creative process of using something as simple as leftover cardboard into something artistic and maybe even practical. In two days - 4 hours per day - students will get hands on instruction and come out with a completed project like the one below. Lot's of fun.
