LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Summer BLAST! - 3 weeks - Oakwood
For children entering 2nd-6th grade: SUMMER BLAST! at Oakwood is an afternoon program designed to engage children in enriching, entertaining, and educational activities, and runs from 1:30–4:30 pm. Children may enroll in Summer BLAST! even if theyre not enrolled in the morning Summer Arts Academy program. If a child is enrolled in the morning Summer Arts Academy program, he/she will have a supervised lunchtime from 12:45–1:30 pm each day, and will need to bring a lunch. During the first session of the afternoon the children will be divided by age into two groups and will rotate between the two classes offered that week. During the second session students choose between Sports Club, Book Club, or Tennis Club. Students may enroll in one, two or all three weeks. The classes during the first session change each week. Back Again For More Fun
This is the third year that our girl has spent the full two weeks at Piomingo. The big difference is that this year she is going back as a counselor in training. We're very excited that she was given the opportunity to step up in a leadership position. It's a mystery of Shakespearean proportions as this year’s campers create a whodunit from the ground up using Shakespearean characters, plots, intrigue, dialogue, and combat. Each camper will get to choose a Shakespearean character to play, agree on a Shakespearean murder victim, and help write and perform an original play using Shakespearean themes. Campers will learn about the plays, acting, and stage combat in this week-long experience that culminates in a live performance! SETSCO will provide everything except underwear, shoes, and lunch. Tuition is $235 until May 31 when it will increase to $250, so register early! Ages 9-17 Mon-Fri 9:00-4:30 June 13-17 $235

Music/Chorus-The Science of Gardening - Amador Elementary School
MUSIC/CHORUS Branch Out into Music Singing and playing an instrument can be so much fun, but some students just dont know where to begin. This fun-filled class includes music basics, singing, and playing the recorder. From there, students may be able to branch out into playing another instrument, or learn to sing harmony in a choir. THE SCIENCE OF GARDENS Gardening, kids dig it. Each day of class will have a hands-on science and gardening theme. On the first day of class, we will learn about the basic needs of plants and students will plant seeds. On each subsequent day we will explore topics such as leaf adaptations, flowers & pollinators, fruit, seeds & seed dispersal, beneficial insects, garden art, and sustainable gardening. Each student will be given a Writers Notebook. This is a safe place for students to keep ideas and thoughts like real authors do. We will explore different genres and mentor text. The students will explore ideas, develop volume, revise, edit and publish final pieces of their writing. This will be accomplished through a Writers Workshop format. Machines and Mechanisms Grades 3-5 (Friday) - Janney Elementary School
Students work in small groups to explore pulleys, gears, and levers. They complete problem solving activities using physics and math and work on structures that require precision.
