We invite you to help shake off the deep winter doldrums by joining us for a fantastical event for the dicer, strategist, gamer, and lover of shiny things in all of us! Fimbulwinter might be kept at bay if we show how much we enjoy each others' company while we play and make merry all through the wintery day and into the night! Classes for period games will be taught throughout the day, and yes, we are looking for folks to teach their favorite period dice, bone, board, card, chance,and other games! The Cuil Cholium Game Library will be present, with multiple boards for Nine, Six, and Three Man Morris, Checkers, Chess, Mancala,etc as well as binders with rules and instructions for all these games and more.
Send a Deweyville Pre-Teen to camp - Odessa, TX
Butch's Sunday School Class is collecting spare change to send a pre-teen from First Baptist Church of Deweyville, TX (a suburb of Houston) that was devestated by the flooding last week to Highland Lakes Camp this summer. Normally the church raises funds by having fundraisers but as you can see...they will have to devote all their time to restoring the church. Chapel Hill's youth have attended this camp several times in the past with great spiritual success.

Tuesday - Knitting - HoLa Lower School
This class begins with essential lessons for to empower new knitters. Lessons will include choosing supplies, reading instructions, casting on, knit stitch, purl stitch, and binding off. Using these basic techniques, participants will learn how to create different knitting patterns using the knit and purl techniques, including seed stitch, ribbing, stockinette, and garter. By the end of the class, the students will have created a scarf using techniques learned in the class. (201) 427-1458
Singing for the Stage and Beyond - The Little Theatre of Alexandria
This class is designed to introduce and strengthen the fundamentals of voice/singing for the adult voice. Students will learn proper breathing placement and projection techniques, as well as technical and interpretive principles. In addition, students will learn to select and prepare songs for their particular voices. Limited to ages 17 and older. INSTRUCTOR BIO: BEVERLEY BENDA, a professional singer by trade, is a classical soprano with The United States Army Band Pershings Own, and Programming NCO and Script Writer for their Public Affairs Office. She has performance and teaching degrees from James Madison University, Eastern Illinois University, and The Eastman School of Music, and has appeared in a variety of musical productions including Brigadoon, Carmen, Carousel, Oklahoma!, Kismet, The Pirates of Penzance, Dialogue of the Carmelites, My Fair Lady, The Music Man, Hollywood Pinafore, Its A Grand Night for Singing, and the first revival of Call Me Mister. Hewitt Clubhouse is our full service after-school, mini fun camps and summer camp program for children in grades k-8. Our mini camp and after-school offerings are available to Hewitt girls only. The program runs daily during the school year. Classes include chess, karate, swimming, science, and culinary learning. Most Clubhouse sessions begin after school and run through 4:30pm but others have a later dismissal time based on the activity. For families wanting more afterschool care there are options for an extended afternoon until or 5:55pm, with opportunities for homework help, indoor games or outdoor play. ¡La Cocina Loca! - Building H
Whos ready to have a fiesta? Throughout the week well practice our Spanish while taking trips to the Latino markets in Durham, the Panaderia (bakery), and the Paleteria (ice cream shop). La Cocina Loca campers will shop for lunch ingredients to make their lunches on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and hop on the Duke School bus to travel off campus for lunch on Tuesday and Thursday.
