Visit www.maskansascity.org to register! FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: WHEN IS THE CAMP? The camp will, Insha'Allah, be from Friday, August 12th - Sunday, August 14th. WHERE WILL THE CAMP TAKE PLACE? Rock Springs 4-H Center in Junction City, KS. It is about 2 - 2.5 hours away from Kansas City. Transportation will be provided, Insha'Allah. (Please see details below.) WHO MAY ATTEND THE CAMP? Young youth boys and girls ages 10-18 only. WHAT IS THE COST TO ATTEND THE CAMP? The cost is $120 per child by July 20th midnight. After July 20th, the cost will go up to $140/per child. Registration space is limited! WHEN IS THE DEADLINE TO REGISTER? For the early registration discount, the deadline to register is by Friday, July 20th. After July 20th, the prices will go up to $140. Registration will close @ 11:59 on July 31st or earlier if seats are filled. WILL TRANSPORTATION BE PROVIDED FOR THE CAMP? ACT-OUT! Acting School proudly announces Our Seventh Annual Youth Summer Camp and Production of "Tom & Huck!" The Story of Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn (all roles in "Tom & Huck!" are open, and may be cast to actors of any age 3-18, any race, or any gender). Since 2007, Act-Out! has been providing Bay Ridge & the Greater Brooklyn Area with world-class acting instruction at very affordable prices. We have served students of all ages and levels of experience, from beginners to Broadway veterans. Led by NYS-Certified drama teacher and Award-winning actor John Stillwaggon (see below for brief biography), students learn physical and vocal preparation, improvisation, line memorization, stagecraft, action/obstacle work, as well as character and scene analysis. Students and parents have reported vast improvements not only in acting ability, but in such life skills as conflict resolution, goal-setting, teamwork, discipline, memory, and self-esteem. No. Will we write similes about the smell of a campfire, or lengthy descriptions of that one camp counselor who wears knee socks and a fanny pack? Perhaps. Join Kirsten Casey for five days of writing delight: creating poetry, characters, flash fiction pieces, and more. We will write everyday from 1-4 using a variety of prompts, strengthening our attention to detail, sharing our work, and eating candy. Forest Overnight Camp - Camp Waubanong
Join us for a week of thriving and surviving at Forest Camp. Become the eyes and ears of the forest as you learn confidence through the skills of the scout. Discover how to blend into the landscape through the arts of camouflage, navigation without compass or map, and stealthy movement. Together with your fellow adventurers you will build fire from friction, craft and use natural tools, identify and harvest edible plants, cook over open fires, sleep in a rain-proof shelter you build yourself, and more! In addition, Forest Campers can swim, play capture the flag, pick wild raspberries, play music, tend the camp garden, or build wilderness shelters during free time. Forest camp inspires youths natural discovery, cooperation, responsibility, and independence. Campers spend their week in traditional Adirondack Shelters with up to eight other campers. Our girls and boys cabins are located on separate ends of campus. The week for traditional overnight campers begins with drop-off at 2:00PM on Sunday, and lasts through pick-up at 5:00PM on the following Friday. (802) 490-5550

Students shouldnt just be playing video games, they should be MAKING their own games using video cameras, sensors, and drawings. Students even get to remix what others have done to hack their games! By learning Scratch (designed by the brilliant folks at MIT), your child will get to impress you with his or her cool and original creations. Plus, your child will be doing a good deed while gaming, as with all Level Up Village classes, 30% of the profits go towards funding a Global Partner class of students who live in poverty. Using video chatting, your child and his or her global partner will get to hack into each others games! All the while, your child will be learning about math, logic, coding and presentation skills. Middle School White Water Rafting: U.S. National Whitewater Center, Charlotte - Mount Shepherd Retreat Center
Adventure Rafting is designed for those wishing to experience the excitement of world-class whitewater. Rafters will take on Class II, III and IV rapids. Participants should be comfortable with getting wet with the potential of coming out of their boat. This is a one day trip to the U.S. Whitewater Center, Charlotte, NC. Spend some time camping with your Girl Scout Troop at Sandy Ridge! Price includes accommodations at Sandy Ridge. Troop is responsible for food and programming during their stay. Troop leaders are required to have specific trainings to camp overnight with their Troop at Sandy Ridge. Please contact Michaela Watts at 843-552-9910 ext. 2390 or for more information on training. Troops must have approval by GSESC to overnight camp at Sandy Ridge. A Trip Approval Form must be submitted to your Regional Volunteer Services Specialist (VSS) at least three weeks prior to reservation date.
