Teen Horse Day Camp - Stewart, TN
Legend Acres summer camp sessions give horse loving boys and girls the opportunity to spend plenty of time with these wonderful animals. Campers are divided into groups, based on their ability, to provide riders with activities appropriate to their skill levels. In addition, campers take part in the daily grooming, tacking up and care of the horse or pony assigned to them. Campers also participate in activities that promote good horsemanship as well as arts and crafts , snacks and lunch included. We offer three summer camp programs, based on age. The first program is our Kiddie Camp, which is a wonderful experience for children ages 4-7. The camp runs for three consecutive days from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm and is $375.00 for the week. Youth Camp, for ages 8 -11 runs for three consecutive days from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm and is $375.00 per week. We look forward to seeing you at camp!! Fine Arts Academy: Session II - Farmhouse
The HCA fine arts academy is geared toward those students who are serious about visual arts. Their day will include 2 sessions studio time with different teachers learning to work with acrylic, ceramics, watercolor, pastels and pencil drawing. Parker Summers Full Day Camp, Session II - Francis W Parker
Campers engage in activities that revolve around weekly themes in this full-day program. Arts and crafts, sports and games are part of the fun. In addition to their regularly scheduled morning of Old Time Favorites, campers participate in Sports Shorts Clinics, Book Club, Story Theater, Wacky Wednesday Mystery Guests, Fun Friday Activities and Barbecues. Campers in first and second grade also experience off-campus excitement with our weekly field trips. Instructional swim time at a local pool and visits to the beach are included each week. Nothing compares to the joy of cruising through Portland on a bike in the summer. Cruisers get a whole week of expanding their city view by exploring their neighborhood and beyond. Each day campers decide which destinations and parks to explore as a group, developing a sense of teamwork and mutual support along the way. Trips focus on riding safely, crossing intersections, reading maps, and troubleshooting common mechanical problems. Cruisers experience the empowerment of discovering new places through their very own person-powered transportation. As riders challenge themselves each day, many are surprised by how far they can go on two wheels. Fairy Tales Through a Microscope - The Evergreen School
Fairy tales do not require fairies… interesting! In this class, students will be examining fairy tales. Where did the term fairy tales come from? When did fairy tales begin? Some fairy tales explored this week include The Three Little Pigs, Jack and the Beanstalk, and The Frog Prince. The original versions will read and discussed. We will take a look at todays childrens literature and how fairy tales have changed through the years… often in funny ways. We will explore different versions of tales from different cultures.
