Firefighter Youth Camp - Limerick, PA
Limerick Fire Company's Third Annual YOUTH FIREFIGHTER CAMP June 20-24, 2016; 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Ages 6-13 years of age Registration Fee: $35; deadline to register: May 30, 2016 Welcome to Limerick Fire Company’s Youth Firefighter Camp. Due to the success of our camp, the deadline to register cannot be extended and attendance is limited to 60 campers. All registered cadets will receive one LFC Fireman’s tee shirt and LFC baseball cap to wear as their ‘daily uniform’. Hat and designated ‘uniform shirt’ must be worn every day because it identifies which group the cadet is assigned to for the week. If you are interested in purchasing extra camp shirts, they must be ordered at the time of registration-$10 per shirt. Why try this Camp? You will: ►Learn fire safety you thought you knew & then apply what you’ve learned ►Learn about the fire house, trucks (apparatus), and personnel ►Hands-on with various equipment ►Ladders-learn the how-to’s ►Hoses-proper techniques to connect to the hydrant, flow water, roll up, etc. ►Extinguishers-the ABC’s ►Rescue tools during simulated live demonstrations ►Fire gear-bunker pants, jacket, helmet, safety gloves & glasses all provided ►Watch & participate in several live demonstrations with the firefighters ►And so much more…. Science of Spirituality, Minnesota, is happy to announce Youth Angels Day Camp 2016 for children and adults. Youth Angel Day Camp is a one day Wintertime indoor Meditation Camp. This registration is for our Winstead Elementary location. If you need to register for our Walnut Grove Elementary location please search registration code 6318. Camp Will is a specialized therapeutic summer day camp for children, adolescents and young adults (ages 6 through 23 years) with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our goal is to build confidence and self esteem, enhance social skills, foster independence, and provide an exciting and fun-filled summer through various activities, such as music, art, sports, recreation therapy, and more. This online registration is the first step of a two step process to enroll your child in Camp Will. Eligibility: Campers must be a resident of Williamson County, ages 6 through 23 years (campers must be 6 by May 31, 2016). New Campers: An assessment MUST be completed by a parent/legal guardian PRIOR to registration. Campers must also be present during the assessment. Using scenes from some of the leading voices in contemporary theatre, students will learn how to approach performing in 2-3 person scenes. Studies will include dramaturgical research, scoring the script, scene coaching, and in-class performances with feedback. The Arroyo Seco Adventure Camp offers opportunities to learn about our local, natural resources in a fun and exciting way. Now in its third year, this innovative camp pairs environmental education with traditional camp activities. Based in Brookside Park with regular activities in the lower Arroyo, this is an outdoor camp. The first week of camp focuses on origins of the Arroyo Seco and the geological events that created this amazing space. Other weeks focus on plants of the Arroyo, local animals and myths, protecting and exploring nature and survival skills. Conservation specialists lead daily nature walks and instruct on conservation of environmental resources, native plants and local wildlife. Other activities include casting pond fly-fishing, archery, horseback riding, hiking, environmental education lessons, swimming, art and group games. Campers go on a weekly environmental themed field trip. In previous years, trips included kayaking, nature centers and local farms. Staff ratio is 1 to 10. This camp is a great fit for campers ages eight to twelve who are interested in nature and are called to explore different kinds of recreation.
