Week 6: Enrichment Sessions - Westminster School
Embark on a new and fun learning adventure with Griffin Camps Enrichment Classes. Our offerings for this week: Session 1: Make it & Take it (9:00 AM- 12:00 PM) In this handson, fun, and exciting program, you will discover how amazing science is. You will make and take home a wide assortment of toys designed to teach you science concepts in a handson way. Bugs, Spiders, and Critters What is a bug? Whats the difference between a spider, and insect, or a millipede? Campers will learn about the differences between the various creepy crawlies in our own backyards! Session 2: Make it & Take it (continued) Refer to description in Session One. Creative Collaging This isnt just any old collaging class. Young artists will use a variety of different materials to make collages. Exploring concepts of depth, texture, color, and mosaic, this camp is bound to cover our week with adventure. Session 3: Our Mighty Oceans The oceans cover 70% of our planet! We will learn about these oceans and the animals that live inside them, even the ones in the darkest depths! The theme is up to the student! Students will be offered several ideas such as superheroes, aliens, magic, animals, and more. Then the children decide what they wish to create for the week. Students will use iPads to take animation photos of LEGO® pieces and edit video and sound. Set, character, and story construction will be taught while integrating subjects math/science and visual/language arts. 206-957-1533
Extended Care- AM - Main Campus
Open to all camp participants, summer extended care will provide the same top-notch service and activity as the rest of our programs, while offering additional flexibility for working families. Summer Extended Care times AM: 7:30–8:30 AM PM: 3:00–4:00 PM Both morning and afternoon extended care sessions are available, but no mid-day care is available. For example, a child registered for a half-day morning camp may register for AM extended care (7:30–8:30 AM), but must still be picked up at the completion of the camp half-day at 11:30 AM. In the same way, an afternoon half-day camper may register for PM extended care (3:00–4:00 pm). Extended care sessions must be registered as an entire week, not by single days. Summer Extended Care Cost $40 per week, per block (full day campers who wish to have both extended care blocks will be charged $75 per week) * Any camper not picked up within 15 minutes of their daily camp completion will be sent to extended care, and a $10 fee will be charged. Campers will enjoy some girl time, Fancy Nancy style! Each day will begin by reading a Fancy book and keeping a journal of Fancy new words. Campers will make fancy crafts and pamper themselves with painted fingers and toes. They will make tutus, hair accessories and jewelry and other fancy things and will end the week with a fantastically fancy tea party! Challenger Sports British Soccer Camps First Kicks - Meineke Recreation Center (MRC)
These camps include technical and tactical instruction in all areas including goal keeping. Emphasis is placed on individual ball control and skill development through a coaching mix of maximum participation, progressive practices and small side games. Fee includes a ball and T-shirt. Golden Goal - This special bonus camp session is only open to campers who have also signed up for the 9 a.m-noon Half Day camp program.
