SJCP Summer Camp 2016 - Mitchell, IN
Our annual summer camp for youth going into 4th grade through College Freshman in the Fall. Teen Camp 9-4pm wk 3 - Frankfort Park District
The Frankfort Park District would like to present Teen Adventures Summer Day Camp program for youth entering 7th ? 9th grade in the fall. This full day camp will provide plenty of outdoor activities, water days, arts & crafts, and a field trip each week that a teen will enjoy. Special guests will be invited to this camp including sports, art and science instructors. Teen Adventures Summer Day Camp will be held at Commissioners Park, located at 22108 S. 80th Avenue in Frankfort, along with the use of Chelsea Middle School, which is located next to Commissioners Park. Drop off and pick up will take place at Chelsea Middle School, located at 22265S. 80th Ave. The camp will run from 9 ? 4pm, Monday thru Friday, with a before and after care option. Bring a bag pack, lunch and water bottle each day. Lunch may be included on certain field trip days. Registration must be done in person at our main office located at the Founders Community Center, 140 Oak Street. A copy of your child?s birth certificate will be required at the time of registration. Opti 2 - Sailing, Tennis, & Seamanship ( Intermediate ) Eligibility AYC Jr Sailing is open to all children regardless of membership status. Admittance in the 2s class is based on their ability and performance in Opti 1s, and demonstration of adequate swimming skills for safety purposes. Or beginners in the Opti 2 age range, 10-12. Sailing The Opti 2 Sailing class builds on the 1s mastery of the basic skills of sailing. Participants will work on developing advanced sailing skills. A Opti 2 sailor will be able to master basic knots, have a strong understanding of the parts of the boat and sail and their effects on powering and de-powering the boat. Sailors will have a constant awareness of the wind, be able to trim for different points of sail and conditions, have an awareness of body position relative to wind and wave conditions, and consistently use tiller extension. The 2s will make controlled gybes, tack without falling-off the breeze, sail in and out of the river independently, land on docks or instructors motor boat safely, and have a basic understanding of the Rules of the Road.
